Epic Weekend - Part 2 - I was blessed to attend the grand opening of the Birthing Center. Here I am with the founders of the - and Leah Thompson as well as Sarah Ward. Located in Pinellas County, Florida, the center is a beautiful space with birthing rooms and spaces for classes and education. During the grand opening I had the chance to get a tour and sit down with both Leah and Lisa to talk about maternity care and their mission to bring wholistic care to women, from the teen years to motherhood and beyond. The rooms were beautiful and inviting. is a dream come true for expecting families and professionals like me. I can’t describe how warm and welcoming it is to be in a place that shares your mission for mother and baby care. Thank you 🙏🏻 Leah and Lisa.

On October 19th, I was blessed to participate in the Ocala hospital event - Always in Our Hearts: A Pregnancy and Infant Loss Memorial Evening - it was a beautiful event that included prayer, candle lighting and reading of babies names that left us too soon. I felt honored to be a part of it. All the families left with this beautiful mementos included in the picture. I am smelling the lavender candle as I type, and it brings my heart peace. In honor of our Mary Celeste (1-30-15) and all the babies that departed too early.

What a beautiful way to wrap up Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. In this new episode I sat down with Jill Kottmeier , to talk about her work in hospital perinatal bereavement, spanning more than 20 years. Jill is the director of Well-being and Bereavement Services at Endeavor Health Northwest Community Hospital in Illinois. We had a candid and heartfelt conversation, where she shared the experiences and life lessons that came from working with families at their most vulnerable. Perinatal Loss, Grief and Love coexist, and Jill is a witness to all of it. I hope this interview will enrich your life, like it did mine.
