Is carbonated water good for me?💦

Carbonated drinks like sparkling water are refreshing beverages. You might be curious, is it a good replacement for soda? Can I get all the benefits, including hydration, of regular water by drinking it sparkling? We have the answers.🔥

What is carbonated water?
Carbonated water is water that’s been infused with carbon dioxide (CO2) gas under pressure.

Is carbonated water bad for me?
In general, plain carbonated water beverages are a healthy choice. Read on to learn about common concerns with these beverages and whether or not they are worth your worry.👇

Is it bad for digestion?😵‍💫
Too much carbonation (bubbles) from any type of fizzy beverage may cause some people to experience bloating, gas (causing burping), and fullness, but this varies from person to person. However, these symptoms are generally mild. If you do experience these symptoms and find them uncomfortable, consider cutting back to an amount that feels good.

Some studies show that carbonated water may even help with mild acid reflux symptoms and indigestion. 

What about dental health?🦷
According to the American Dental Association (ADA) carbonated water is generally fine for teeth, especially when compared to sugary beverages such as soda.  
But citrus-flavored waters tend to have a slightly higher acid level which may increase damage to your teeth’s enamel. And, unlike tap water, carbonated water doesn’t have the dental benefits of added fluoride. 

Is it hydrating like still water?💧
Yes, plain sparkling water may be just as hydrating as still water. 

How much water should I drink?🚰
Each person's water needs will vary. Factors such as your age, gender, activity level, and overall health status will influence how much you should drink. But, in general, the recommended amount for healthy, sedentary people is 11 to 15 - 8 oz. (1 cup) servings per day. If you live in a hot climate or exercise often, you’ll likely need even more.

Clear skin diet. Best and worst foods!🔥

Did you know that what you put in your body is just as important as what you put on your face—at least when it comes to skin health. Certain foods are likely to trigger breakouts while others can actually improve your skin health and condition.👩‍⚕️

Like ginger for nausea or chest rub for colds, diets have pretty much become modern-day folk remedies for our largest organ: the skin.🌿

Our biggest advise: Eat nothing but “real” foods for 30 days. To do this, you focus on eating unprocessed foods with simple ingredients and avoid a laundry list of other foods, including:
• sugars
• alcohol
• grains
• dairy
• legumes
• additives, such as MSG
• baked goods

On eliminating processed food and refined sugar:

Sugar in any form influences the two major causes of acne: hormones and inflammation. As you eat refined and processed carbohydrates like white sugar, your blood sugar levels increase at a faster rate, and your pancreas responds by releasing insulin. By eliminating sugar, you may be able to decrease the amount of insulin (and as a result, oil and acne production) your body makes.

🍭On eliminating dairy:

These products can trigger or worsen acne since milk contains precursors to testosterone and other androgens, which influence the hormone receptors in the skin to turn on the process that causes acne.

🍷On eliminating alcohol:

Although drinking too much alcohol does not directly cause acne, it’s certainly feasible that it may trigger acne. Certain steroid hormones, such as glucocorticoids and adrenal androgens, are released during stress. (And drinking a bit more than one should is another form of stress.) These hormones stimulate the oil glands in the skin, beginning a process that leads to acne. Bottom line — moderation!

Hate crowds? Missed the boat on a reservation? Want to show off your cooking skills? Don't stress! Instead, make one of our special and have a cozy meal in this Valentine’s Day.❤️

You can serve this quick sauté of shrimp, arugula, cherry tomatoes, garlic over rice, or toss it with your favorite chick pea or gluten free pasta.🌿

Prep: 15 mins
Servings: 4

Ingredients✨
• 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
• 1 cup cherry or grape tomatoes
• 1 garlic clove, minced
• 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 4 ounces wild or baby arugula (4 cups)
• Coarse salt and ground pepper
• 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions🔥
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high. Add tomatoes and cook, stirring often, until they blister, about 2 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, 30 seconds. Add shrimp and cook, stirring often, until almost opaque throughout, about 4 minutes. Add arugula, season with salt and pepper, and toss until wilted, 1 minute. Add lemon juice and toss to combine.
