Wolfie was born on February 2, 2013 with deformed front legs. His condition inhibits him from walking normally, however it does not currently deter him from his puppy ways. This page is intended to share his story and mark his progress, as he will most likely need surgeries to improve his mobility. He was born in Central Florida. When his original owner took him to the vet it was recommended that he be euthanized, because they believed he wouldn’t be able to live a ‘normal life’. This was not an option! Not being able to provide Wolfie with the surgery & care he needed he was transferred to a Tampa dog rescuer who has deep community roots and had a desire to help special need canines. He now resides with his new mom, 3 new siblings: Duchess (older Pomeranian rescued from Florida Little Dog Rescue), Pixie Mo (Chihuahua rescued and adopted from Florida Little Dog Rescue), and Dahmer (Beta fish “rescued” from the pet store). Wolfie loves his new family. He especially likes to terrorize his new canine sisters. Despite his condition he gets around pretty well and has acclimated beautifully to his new pack. In the coming weeks Wolfie will be evaluated by an orthopedic veterinarian. We have some prospects but we will kindly take recommendations for additional orthopedic surgeons in the Tampa Bay area. We are unaware of what surgeries may be needed for Wolfie at this time but it is likely that he will need surgery on at least one if not both front legs to make his mobility better and more comfortable. We all have our paws crossed that he will be able to keep both of his front legs. Although, he seems to be perfectly healthy he does have some difficulties moving around. Wolfie is full of life and is an inspiration to everyone who meets him! We will keep everyone updated on his treatment plan. Keep your eyes peeled for fundraising events, as Wolf man may need support from the community. After his treatments all proceeds and funds raised will be used in a scholarship fund for other pups in need. Please share his story and his page!
