If Paul was living in our generation, we’d all be getting letters.
Not a few churches.
All of us.
“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, unto the church that scrolls for six hours, argues in comment sections, calls compromise compassion, mistakes attendance for obedience, and still thinks nobody noticed the group chat…”
That man would be typing at superhuman speed.
Because let’s be honest, Paul didn’t play around with truth. He loved the church enough to correct it. He encouraged, challenged, rebuked, taught, and pointed people back to Christ over and over again.
And we probably need that more than ever.
The question is, if Paul wrote a letter to your life right now, what would he lovingly call out?

The devil doesn’t have to destroy you if he can distract you.
He doesn’t need you worshiping the darkness. He just needs you too busy to walk in the light.
Too busy to pray.
Too busy to lead.
Too busy to repent.
Too busy to notice your marriage getting cold, your kids getting distant, and your soul getting numb.
1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
Sober. Vigilant. Awake.
That means spiritual autopilot is dangerous.
Some men are losing battles they never even realized they were in because distraction has become normal.
The enemy doesn’t care if you believe in God as long as you never actually walk with Him.
Challenge for today: Identify one distraction that’s stealing your spiritual focus.
Cut it back. Turn it off. Put it down.
Your attention isn’t neutral. It’s forming you.

In Hebrew and Aramaic, His name would have been closer to Yeshua, meaning “Yahweh saves” or “The Lord saves.” In English, we say Jesus.
But don’t miss the bigger point. The power isn’t in trying to sound more spiritual by saying the name in another language. The power is in knowing who He is.
He is Savior. Messiah. King. Lord. The Son of God. The Lamb who takes away the sin of the world.
Call Him Jesus. Call Him Yeshua. Just make sure you call Him Lord.

Paul refused to save his own life because he was surrendered to a mission bigger than his own comfort.
He knew chains were waiting. He knew suffering was coming. He knew obedience could cost him everything.
But Paul wasn’t trying to protect his reputation, preserve his safety, or build a comfortable life.
He was carrying the gospel.
And through his obedience, courage, suffering, preaching, and letters, God used him to help spread the message of Jesus through the Roman world and beyond.
That’s the part that hits hard.
Most of us are asking God to make our lives easier while Paul was willing to lose his life so others could find Christ.
Christian men, we need to ask a harder question:
What am I protecting that’s keeping me from obeying?
Comfort? Image? Safety? Approval? Control?
The gospel was never carried forward by comfortable men playing it safe.
It was carried by surrendered men who counted Christ worth everything.

Me talking to God about all these struggles He keeps allowing into my life…
“Lord, I trust You… but I’m a little confused by Your tactics.”
Because sometimes God’s growth plan feels less like a peaceful Bible study and more like spiritual boot camp with surprise drills.
You pray for patience, and suddenly everyone tests you.
You pray for faith, and suddenly you need it.
You pray for strength, and suddenly there’s resistance.
You pray for humility, and suddenly your pride gets exposed in 4K.
But that’s how God trains what comfort could never produce.
The struggle isn’t proof that God forgot you.
Sometimes it’s proof that He’s forming you.
So keep trusting Him, even when His tactics make no sense in the moment.

The prosperity gospel may sound encouraging, but it quietly shifts the focus from surrendering to Jesus to using Jesus to get health, wealth, comfort, and success.
That’s not the gospel Jesus preached.
When teachers like Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer are criticized, the issue isn’t whether every word they say is wrong. The issue is that when the message becomes centered on blessing, breakthrough, self-improvement, and “your best life,” we have to test it against Scripture.
Jesus didn’t say, “Follow Me and everything gets easy.”
He said, “Take up your cross and follow Me.”

God made Paul wait.

And 2,000 years later, we’re still being discipled by what God produced in his waiting.
Paul spent time in prison, delayed, restricted, confined, and unable to move the way he probably wanted to move. But while Paul was waiting, God was writing.
Letters that would strengthen churches.
Correct doctrine.
Shape leaders.
Encourage suffering believers.
Expose false teaching.
Point generations back to Jesus.
What looked like wasted time became Kingdom formation.
That should challenge us.
Because some of the seasons we keep calling delays may actually be places where God is developing something deeper than we can see.
God isn’t wasting your waiting.
He may be forming your faith, sharpening your voice, breaking your pride, deepening your dependence, or preparing fruit that will outlive you.
Don’t despise the hidden season.
Paul couldn’t see 2,000 years ahead from a prison cell, but God could.
