Edgecombe Health Center by Harborview is located in Eastern North Carolina in the small town of Tarboro, NC. Our center is centrally located between Rocky Mount and Greenville. Our facility accepts referrals from many accredited hospitals in the area including Vidant Edgecombe (Now ECU Health Edgecombe) and Vidant Health (Now ECU Greenville), UNC-Nash, UNC- Chapel Hill, and Duke.

🌟 Resident Success Story: Ms. Martha Edmonds 🌟

When Ms. Martha Edmonds arrived at our facility on 4/17/2025, she faced significant challenges following hospitalization for acute hypoxic respiratory failure and a knee fracture. She needed moderate to maximal assistance with most daily activities and spent much of her day in bed.

Through dedicated PT and OT therapy over several weeks, Ms. Edmonds made remarkable progress:
✅ Performs bed mobility independently
✅ Can do standing transfers with supervision
✅ Walks short distances with a walker
✅ Uses her wheelchair throughout the facility independently
✅ Feeds and grooms herself

Today, Ms. Edmonds enjoys being out of bed daily, engaging with fellow residents and staff, smiling, and even exercising her arms and legs while propelling herself in her wheelchair. Her determination and hard work have truly transformed her daily life, and she looks forward to getting dressed and moving every day! 💖👏
