The future of Terre Noire Apothecary ~ this month I will slowly be transitioning out of the space and selling through the last of my stock. Ken & April will be taking over some of my inventory so that your favorites will still be available here in Taylor!

My apothecary products that have grown to have a cult following will still be available to you in their store, online through me for pick up or delivery and perhaps even some pop ups from time to time.

I’m also hoping to be able to host some educational herbal classes like I’ve always wanted to do such as how to blend herbal teas, herbalism 101 etc… Lots of good things to come!

Meanwhile come shop the Apothecary Sale starting Friday April 17th - the end of the month! Lots of good things with good discounts!
If you want to stop in for one last chat, I will be there Saturday April 25th! Hope to see you all then!

Hayley's Grains is for sale. Not because I don't love this incredible little store or believe in it's continued success, but because after almost 5 years of single-handedly building this business and managing the ups and downs of entrepreneurship - it's time for me to put myself and my family first.

If you or someone you know has ever wanted to own a small, community-focused business that truly makes a difference in people's lives, this is your opportunity. My hope is to find someone who loves this store as much as I do and is passionate about supporting our local food systems here in Central Texas.

Please know that this has not been an easy decision and is one that I have been weighing for a while now. I love the community that surrounds the store, but it is time for me to pass it on to someone who has the capacity and energy to continue expanding the stores reach and fostering the amazing community that supports it 💚

Things will continue on as normal for now and I'll, as always, be transparent with any updates that come our way ☺️

Curious Elixirs are booze-free craft cocktails, infused with adaptogens to help you unwind. Our beverages are handmade with the best ingredients and no refined sugar.
For the sober, or those looking to drink less but still want an evening beverage or something to take to a party.
I’ve brought in 5 varieties of their drinks, you can buy them individually or mix and match a case of 4 for a discount.

🍹 Curious No. 1 is a riff on the Negroni, with the added benefit of rhodiola and gentian to boost energy. Best served on a large cube in a rocks glass, garnished with an orange slice or twist.
🍸A chance encounter between a spicy margarita and a dark & stormy resulted in Curious No. 2. This flavor contains the aphrodisiac damiana as well as ginger and citrus to help settle any butterflies. Serve up on the rocks with a lime wedge and a salted rim.
🥃Curious No. 4 is best described as a Sicilian Blood Orange Green Mandarin Spritz, invoking both the ever-popular Aperol Spritz with the delicate effervescence of Prosecco. Enjoy the de-inflammatory properties of ginseng and turmeric, as well as holy basil to reduce stress.
🍫 Curious No. 5 is our smoked cherry chocolate old fashioned. Spicy, smokey, and oh so luxurious, it’s infused with the immunity boost of elderberry, ginger, chicory and cayenne with the power of legendary aphrodisiac shatavari, a body-balancing Ayurvedic ingredient known as "The Queen of Herbs." Best served stirred on the rocks for ten seconds, garnished with orange peel, cherry, rosemary, or purple sage.
🍇Curious No. 7 is our booze-free champagne cocktail riff on the French 77, and the perfect companion for celebrations large and small-We start with California Chardonnay grapes, and infuse them with elderflower, juniper, lavender, a touch of jasmine green tea, juniper, and gentian root.

Blue butterfly pea is a beautiful flower (yes in the pea family) that makes the most beautiful deep blue teas. A perfect edition to your mocktails or iced teas!

As with many blue foods, Blue butterfly pea is rich in antioxidants from anthocyanins which could support cardiovascular health, vision, brain health and more.

Here I made a simple syrup from the fresh flowers, but you can easily use dried.
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of sugar
I had about 6-7 fresh flowers but the recipe called for 3 T dried.
Bring to an almost boil with the flowers added, then lower the heat and add sugar. Remove from heat and cover and steep for 20 min. Strain and enjoy 1-2 tsp un sparkling water or mocktail of choice! There are lots of good recipes on the internet.

I was limited in ingredients so I added 2 tsp simple syrup with a splash of pomegranate juice for my evening bevvy- I don’t drink so I’m always looking for fun and healthy -not too sweet- mocktails to enjoy, and this one was light and refreshing with just a hint of sweetness. Lime would have been a nice edition, but I was out- If you add lemon or lime the acidity will change the color of the tea to purple!
