The Jacob Davis Funeral Home extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Emily Taylor.

Emily Joan Taylor, 89, formerly of Taylor, died Monday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

She was born in Taylor and was the daughter of the late Clem and Ruth Mulligan Davis.

Emily was a graduate of Taylor High School and had been a member of the First United Methodist Church of Taylor and later a member of the Thornhurst United Methodist Church where she was the organist at both churches.

Surviving are two sons, Glenn and wife Marie of Taylor, Gary and wife Laura of Dallas and a sister, Gail Robbins of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Taylor and a son, Keith Taylor.

There will be no visitation or services.

This morning we were honored to be a part of the Welsh Flag / heritage ceremony at the Lackawanna County Courthouse in downtown Scranton.

Lackawanna County Commissioners Thom Welby and Bill Gaughan joined members of the St. David's Society of Lackawanna County on Friday at the Lackawanna County Courthouse to raise the Welsh flag in honor of St. David’s Day. St. David's Day is celebrated annually on March 1 to honor the patron saint of Wales, marking the anniversary of his death in 589 A.D.
