This past week at Recovery University!

This past week in R.E.C.O.V.E.R.Y 101 we have been discussing the stages of change. Stages of change is a trans theoretical model created by Prochaska and DiClemente. They found that change takes place over time in five distinct stages.

-Precontemplation: not seeing the problem
-Contemplation: seeing a problem and considering wheher to act
-Preparation: doing something to change
-Action: doing something to change
-Maintenance: working to maintain the change

What stage of change are you in?
Our classes take place Monday-Thursday at the Alexander County PORT/Community Paramedic Office, from 5-6. We hope to see you there!

Today, the PORT/Community Paramedic team wants to give a massive shout-out to the SUD coalition for their support in making the simulated room a success! This room is a mock room of a student. This room has hidden substances and paraphernalia that may be confused with regular items. A huge shout-out goes to the two individuals in this picture! Mallory Barnes and Kaitlyn Gansrow Graves have worked tirelessly to bring this project together! These two are major heroes in the SUD coalition and are a great asset to the work done here through the PORT program!
