Have you ever felt like you’re being pulled in 1000 different directions? There’s good reason for that! We are bombarded with messages, notifications, reminders, meetings, and more, all day, every day.

According to Data Never Sleeps (DOMO), “In the last decade, the frequency of digital connection has skyrocketed. Instagram users went from posting 3,600 photos per minute to nearly 66,000 today (a 1700% increase from DNS 1.0 in 2012). Staggering numbers, right? We are more connected than ever, yet there’s a huge disconnect as well, and not just socially. 🥱Having trouble adjusting back to the normal time? Here are tips to support your circadian rhythms:

📱Avoid screens for the 1st hour you are awake.
☀️Get outside in the morning sunlight - even if it’s cloudy - to expose your eyes to full spectrum light. This is helpful for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) as well.
☕️ Cortisol and testosterone are ideally highest in the early morning hours. If you struggle getting out bed, it’s easy to reach for coffee before breakfast. Try an adrenal cocktail instead to support your physiology rather than depleting your reserves. Let me know if you want a recipe!
🍽️ Eat a protein forward breakfast about 1 hour after waking. Your body has more circulation and digestive activity by this time and it helps set the stage for your day.
💧Diffuse an invigorating essential oil blend during the day. Single oils include Blue Tansy, Peopermint, Lemongrass, Cardamom, Lemon, Wild Orange & Lime. The Motivate blend is amazing for energy and focus.
⏰ Between the hours of 6-9 pm, our melatonin levels begin to rise and our body naturally cools down. End your eating window 2-3 hours before bedtime when your body is less active, especially in the digestive tract.
💡Turn off overhead lighting and use lamps. We are working towards matching our inside environment to the outside environment. Limit screen time. Enjoy a warm cup of calming tea and begin bedtime routines. The Serenity Sleep Stick, essential oil and supplement are good to incorporate if you’re having difficulty winding down.
🌑 Sleep in total darkness. If you can’t avoid light exposure, a sleep mask is a wonderful, economical option. Many people use ear plugs as well; I don’t however, due to kids. 😜
