Not many people know my story. I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I remember being the “fat kid” in kindergarten. I went to my family physician when I was in college and he said I needed to exercise every day. No nutrition plan, no exercise plan. I felt embarrassed and angry that he offered no help. I saw a weight loss doctor when I was in my 20’s. I lost 96 pounds in less than a year. When my weight loss slowed down and stopped, he scolded me. I stopped seeing him and gained all of the weight back within a year. We need to feel loved and supported. Losing weight is not easy. Maintaining weight loss is not easy. People treat the word obesity as if it were a bad word. Obesity is a disease. Just like high blood pressure or diabetes. But people with high blood pressure or diabetes are not dismissed by their doctors as being lazy or glutinous. We treat obesity like it is a lack of willpower or a disease of laziness. It is not. We watch that TV show with the 600 lb people and ask how could they let themselves get that big. Believe me, it’s easy. One pound at a time and you wake up weighing 350 pounds… You don’t realize how big you are until you see a picture or can’t fit in a booth at a restaurant.

I have a passion for weightloss because I have been there. I have tried every diet, every meal plan, tried keto before keto was a “thing”. I’ve been depressed, hopeless, lonely, defeated. I had gastric bypass surgery in 2018 and don’t regret it. It’s only a tool and I still have to work at it every single day because I can still gain weight very easily. So when I tell you I get it, I mean that I get it. I’ve been there. I’ve been everywhere and I want to help as many people as I can 🙂
