As a Nurse Practitioner, this is what I test BEFORE I ever prescribe GLP-1 therapy—
and it’s not what most providers are looking at 👀
If your gut isn’t healthy… GLP-1 won’t work the way you think it will.
Before I ever prescribe, I run advanced (at home) gut testing to actually understand what’s going on inside your body.
Here’s what I’m looking at 👇
• Microbiome balance (good vs bad bacteria)
• Pathogens, yeast, parasites, H. pylori
• Digestion + absorption markers
• Gut inflammation + immune response
• Intestinal permeability (leaky gut)
Why this matters:
If your gut is inflamed or imbalanced…

As a 5’2” woman in my 30s (and a Nurse Practitioner), I had to learn this the hard way…
Some of the “healthiest” foods were actually keeping me:
❌ bloated
❌ hungry
❌ stuck with the same 10–20 lbs
Here’s what I stopped buying—and what I do instead:
🚫 Flavored yogurts → ✅ Plain Greek yogurt + berries
🚫 Granola & “healthy” cereals → ✅ Oats + protein
🚫 Most protein bars → ✅ Real protein (eggs, chicken, shakes)
🚫 Cold-pressed juices → ✅ Whole fruits + greens
🚫 Low-fat everything → ✅ Balanced fats (avocado, olive oil)

You’ve probably been told this is normal:
• “I’m never hungry anymore”
• “I can barely eat 800 calories”
• “I’m losing weight fast”
• “I feel too tired to lift”
• “I don’t look toned, just smaller”
And at first… it feels like it’s working.
But here’s the truth no one is telling you:
👉 For petite women, these are NOT wins… they’re red flags.
Because your body doesn’t have a large margin for error.
When you under-eat on GLP-1:
– You lose muscle, not just fat
– Your metabolism slows down
– You end up “skinny fat”
– And regaining the weight becomes almost inevitable
GLP-1 is a tool… but if you don’t support your body properly, it WILL work against you.

Most fat loss advice online was built for women who are 5’6–5’9.
Not women who are 5’0–5’3.
As a nurse practitioner working with petite women, I see this all the time:
➡️ Eating less and less
➡️ Doing more cardio
➡️ Still stuck with the same 10-15 pounds
Petite women don’t need more restriction.
They need a strategy that protects muscle, metabolism, and hormones.
