The Arc of Bell County The Arc of Bell County is a non-profit organization providing activities for individuals with IDD. We alternate weeks with different activities. 18years& up

(Intellectual and Developmental Disability) We offer a fun night every Thursday from 6:00-7:30. The Arc of Bell County is a non-profit organization that offers a fun night every Thursday from 6:00-7:30 at Wilson Rec. Center in Temple, 2205 Curtis B Elliott Dr. for ages 14 & up. 14-18 year old clients will need to have an adult stay with them. We have arts/crafts, bingo, movies, game room and various activities in the gym. Sometimes it is open gym, basketball or volleyball. We have special activities such as Halloween and Valentines Dances with a DJ and food provided by the nursing students from UMHB. We have a bowling activity in Killeen and those who participate are invited to a banquet sponsored by the Elks Lodge in Temple. The American Legion in Temple sponsors a Christmas Party with hotdogs, Santa Claus and goodie bags. The Arc of Bell County also supports and sponsors the ARC Buccaneers which is our Special Olympic team. Sports we participate in are bowling, bocce ball, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, track/field, swimming and tennis. If you have a client interested in participating in Special Olympics she will need to have physical and have a current medical form on file with Special Olympics Texas. These are good for 3 years and we can give you the form. We look forward to hearing back from you and hope you'll attend a fun night for more details.

Hello Central Region!

The time has come once again for Baylor Men's Basketball to team up with Special Olympics Texas to host the annual Night of Joy event. A time where all of our athletes, and their families, are invited to meet, watch, and play alongside the team on Thursday October 16th! Our athletes are being invited to attend a special open practice just for SOTX followed by the chance to join the team on the court after to move through drills and skills with the Baylor team. Coach Drew looks forward to having us each year and I know I am excited to attend again!

Families and athletes are welcome to arrive at 4:30 to watch the last of team practice. Skills and Drills will begin at approximately 5:00 p.m. The event should run until no later than 7:00 p.m. There will be an opportunity for photos with Coach Drew and players as well as the chance to collect some autographs. Athletes are welcome and encouraged to bring an item they would like signed with them.

Below I have included the event flyer for you to share with athletes & families, as well as a map to assist with parking/direction. Please note that I-35 near the Pavillion is under construction and may cause a delay in your travel time with traffic. We are asking those who plan on attending register for the event using the QR code on the flyer or by visiting this link to help us provide Baylor with an accurate headcount of how many people they should expect.

A big thank you to everyone who stepped up and helped get food and drinks to our bowlers today at Bowlarama! I'm not tagging anyone because I will probably forget someone but you all know who you are! Fun day and of course we were so busy with other things I did not get one picture!
