March 14, 2025

Considering the events of yesterday’s mass postings and events, there is only half truths. People can believe what they want, but as we all know, there are two sides to every story. We are all reading these malicious half-truths and misconstrued stories. There were extenuating circumstances that led to the complaints. What has been posted is from sad, broken and hurting family members, and in this ministry, we are often blamed when the outcome is less than perfect. In the preparation process, often times there are extenuating conditions when using embalming chemicals as they may cause a reaction when mixed with certain medications that the person has taken. It’s understandable that they feel like they must pursue some course of action in order for them to make sense and accept their anguish and agony.

White Oaks has always been a professional-based ministry; we don’t and have never looked at it like a job. Greg and I have both experienced the magnitude of great loss in our families. We have felt the enormity of pain just like everyone else. Last year we lost a key person who was beneficial to the success of our company. Losing Greg’s mother, Mrs. Fannie has all but ripped us apart. Nothing has been quite the same, as some things have slipped through the cracks. We’ve done our best to correct and fix those issues. So, you see we are flesh and blood just like everyone else. Having said that, I must say that we are doing exactly what God designed and destined us to be and do.

Greg and I refuse to allow this valley to destroy and remove us from what we are compassionately committed to doing. Yes, things will be a little unsettled for a while, but with God’s grace and help, we intend on coming back better and stronger than ever.

Sometimes in life we may lose sight of things and perspectives, and it is at that point that maybe God allows us to be placed on a proverbial island so that in that vast silence, we are more apt to pay attention and listen to His every word. Yes, God has our attention, and we are mindfully aware that we need to make it through this valley and test.

For those that we hear are trying to discredit our business and our names, we accept this trial with humbleness and humility. We did everything we could to follow protocols, but unfortunately the outcomes were different from our expectations. We learn and grow daily and will continue to do this until we draw our last breaths.

We will not be broken, despite the efforts of others to do so. It’s just like a diamond. It is not until the diamond is heated and vigorously polished do you see its true and natural beauty. So, we are going to take our pruning and allow God to continue to grow in us.

We will continue to pray for those who are in pain and hurting, because that’s what God wants us to do. White Oaks is our ministry, and we remain committed to continuing to do what God urges us to do.

I know that we have failed God many times and fallen short of His glory, but we are just like every living breathing person in this world. It says in the Bible, “Let he who is without sin , cast ye the first stone.” So, throw stones if you must, but remember we should all consider our own sinfulness before judging others.

Throughout this battle, we will reflect on the words of mercy and forgiveness, rather than judgement and condemnation. We will face this with humility and self-reflection.

In closing, I leave you all with the phrase, “For when we fall, we shall rise again.” This is a powerful statement of resilience and faith and overcoming adversity. We will continue to trust and believe in God’s grace and keep moving forward with hope!

Thank you all for your prayers and support!

Love,
Greg & Kim Strother
