It’s a beautiful thing when the older children get to experience the birth of their younger siblings. It’s a place where peace and understanding of how magnificently God created the female body and its innate ability to give birth, collide. Where one word brings breath in the room: JESUS. It’s a place where birth is normal and not weird and true faith is on full display. A place where we learn that birth is natural and fear no longer surrounds it. It’s the most precious family bonding moment and it creates in this sibling, a new sense of respect and a desire to help. It’s empowering for dad, mom, big brother and the whole family for generations to come.

So you're 41 weeks pregnant. Some would say overdue. While the average pregnancy lasts about 40 weeks, it's not uncommon for gestation to extend a bit longer. Did you know 5-10% of pregnancies last beyond week 41. No worries momma, this additional time allows the baby to continue growing, particularly in lung and brain development. 💪
WHAT TO EXPECT 🍉
* Your baby is comparable to a mini watermelon and will continue to gain weight, adding about 0.5 pounds per week until birth.
*You may experience increased pressure on your bladder, frequent urination, loss of mucus plug and discomfort due to the baby's position.
TIPS FOR THIS WEEK 4️⃣1️⃣
*Activities like curb walking, The Miles circuit and exaggerated side lying can help encourage labor.
*Keep track of your baby's movements and contact your Midwife or OB if you notice a decrease.
*Focus on relaxation techniques to manage stress during this waiting period.
*Rest up! Baby's coming soon!

C-section recovery involves a remarkable healing process that unfolds over several weeks. After the procedure, the body immediately begins repairing the uterine incision. ❤️We as humans; moms, birth professionals, medical staff, no one, will ever have complete control in birth. We can implement techniques, doctors can schedule inductions and c-sections, but we can never guarantee a specific outcome because birth, though beautiful, natural & completely amazing, is unpredictable. However, in the midst of it all, there is one thing that YOU CAN control...YOUR MIND! Controlling that will make all of the difference. When fear leaves, pain subsides. When power is affirmed, confidence is attained. When love is the fuel, endurance is the result. All of this stems from a disciplined/controlled mind and we are here to remind you...
"For God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind"--2 Timothy 1:7❤️

Does induction of labour increase the risk of c-section? Not always, but the benefits of awaiting spontaneous birth are significant. Among those benefits are lower risk of complications for mom and baby and a quicker recovery time. However, when induction does create the need for a c-section or when a c-section is planned, evidence has shown that better maternal and neonatal outcomes occur when labour is allowed to begin prior to surgery.
* Fewer respiratory issues for baby
* Improved general health for both
* Lesser chance of postpartum hemorrhage
* Reduced pain and recovery time
* Decreased risk of uterine rupture in future labour’s

Did you know that labor induction occurs in approximately 1 in 4 pregnancies in the United States? This medical intervention is used to stimulate uterine contractions before labor begins on its own, often for health reasons or to manage birth timing. While methods have evolved over time, the goal remains to support safe and healthy outcomes for both mother and baby. This fact highlights the importance of informed decision-making in modern maternity care.
