In May, Dr. Tarpay had the honor of attending the 2024 American Initiative in Mast Cell Diseases Physician and Investigator Conference in Boston, MA. Because of her passion for treating mast cell diseases and educating her patients, Dr. Tarpay decided to host a meeting for her patients with mast cell disease in Oklahoma City, OK. Keynote speakers included Erin Kolb, a Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in mast cell disease treatment, and Blueprint Medicines, the pharmaceutical company behind Ayvakit (avapritinib), the only marketed medication for mastocytosis. This event was not only fun, but it provided a sense of community among patients and fostered an environment for learning from patients, providers, and presenters. We hope to make this a yearly event to aid our patients in managing this disease. Additionally, we are planning a similar meeting for our immunodeficient patients in the spring.

The Allergy, Asthma & Clinical Research Center will be closed on November 28th and 29th for Thanksgiving.
