Did you know that strength training can benefit both your body AND your brain?

Building muscle isn’t just about staying strong — it’s also a powerful tool for brain health. Research shows that strength training enhances cognitive function, improves memory, and supports neuroplasticity by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

As we age, maintaining muscle mass can help sharpen focus, boost mental clarity, and lower the risk of cognitive decline. The best part? It’s never too late to start. A stronger body leads to a sharper mind!

Why does hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) sometimes leave you feeling tired? It’s because your body is hard at work growing and healing.

During HBOT, increased oxygen helps your body repair damaged tissues, generate new cells, and boost neuroplasticity in your brain. This level of regeneration requires energy, which can leave you feeling fatigued—it’s like a workout for your body and brain!

But just like a workout, this tiredness is temporary and a sign that your body is making progress. As your treatment continues, your energy levels will balance out, and you’ll feel the benefits of healing and renewal.

If you’re feeling tired, give yourself grace. Rest is part of the process, and your body is doing incredible work. Have questions about HBOT? Let’s chat below!

Life is all about balance—work and play, activity and rest, health and indulgence. But why is balance so important?

For one, balance reduces stress, which has a direct impact on your physical and mental health. Chronic stress can accelerate brain aging and weaken your immune system. A balanced life supports your body and mind, helping you feel more in control and less overwhelmed.

Start small: carve out 10 minutes for yourself today, whether it’s a walk, meditation, or simply taking a breath. What’s one thing you’ll do this week to restore balance in your life?

Did you know hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) can help improve recovery even years after a stroke?

HBOT works by increasing oxygen flow to damaged brain areas, helping to repair tissues, enhance neuroplasticity, and improve cognitive and physical function. Whether your stroke was recent or years ago, it’s never too late to explore new options for recovery.

I’ve seen the difference this therapy makes in people’s lives — it’s about regaining what you thought was lost. If you’re curious about how HBOT could help, let’s chat.

Are you one of the nearly 40% of people who sets a New Year's resolution? 📝

What about the 8% that actually stick to their New Year's resolution?

If you're ready to set a goal that you can actually follow through on in 2025, follow these tips.

🔹Be Specific: Vague goals like "exercise more" or "eat healthier" are hard to stick to. Instead, set specific, measurable goals like "go for a 30-minute walk three times a week" or "add a serving of vegetables to each meal."
🔹Start Small: It's tempting to aim for big changes, but starting with smaller, manageable goals increases your chances of success. Gradually build on these small changes to achieve your larger goals.
🔹Make a Plan: Break down your resolutions into actionable steps. Create a plan that outlines how you’ll achieve each step and track your progress regularly.
🔹Stay Positive: Focus on the positive changes you’re making, rather than what you’re giving up. Celebrate your successes, no matter how small they may seem.
🔹Hold Yourself Accountable: Share your resolutions with a friend or family member who can support and encourage you. Consider joining a group or finding a resolution buddy to stay motivated together.
🔹Be Flexible: Life happens, and sometimes things don't go as planned. Be flexible and willing to adjust your goals if necessary. It's better to adapt than to give up entirely.

Hold yourself accountable and share your resolution with me in the comments!

If you were to search Google to find what it's like to fly first class, you may notice striking similarities to the description you'd get from an Aviv Clinics client about what it was like to experience our first class hyperbaric oxygen suites during the Aviv Medical Program.

Can you guess my top 7 science-backed tips to boost your brain power as you age? 🧠

🔹Stay Active: Regular physical exercise increases blood flow to the brain and can improve cognitive function.
🔹Eat a Brain-Healthy Diet: Incorporate foods rich in antioxidants, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. Think leafy greens, fatty fish, berries, and nuts.
🔹Stay Mentally Active: Engage in activities that challenge your brain, such as puzzles, reading, or learning a new skill.
🔹Get Enough Sleep: Quality sleep is crucial for memory consolidation and cognitive health.
🔹Manage Stress: Chronic stress can harm your brain. Practice stress-reducing activities like meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises.
🔹Stay Socially Connected: Maintaining strong social connections can boost brain health and reduce the risk of cognitive decline.

Moral of the story? You can take proactive steps today to nurture your brain and help you maintain sharp memory and cognitive function as you age.

Here is a blog post by colleague Dr. Roger Miller that dives deeper into these tips, as well as what counts as "normal" age-related cognitive decline and when it could be something more:

Did you know that over 100,000 Americans visit the emergency room each year due to accidental carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning?

CO is a stealthy attacker, with exposure often going unnoticed until symptoms appear, which is unfortunate because time is tissue. ⌚

If treatment (often HBOT) isn't administered releatively quickly after exposure, then you may be left with lasting impacts of chronic CO poisoning like:

- Cognitive impairments
- Mood and behavioral changes
- Neurological disorders

However, there is hope.

Not only can HBOT be an effective acute treatment, but research indicates it can also help with chronic symptoms. I recent wrote a blog post about how our unique HBOT protocol may help reduce long-term damage and protect your brain health: https://ow.ly/Tk3G50UpBnM
