At 80-years-old, Arthur was still going to work every day in order to buy groceries and pay the electric bill. His house was not safe and was a huge burden to him. Three out of 10 older adults live alone and many of them spend the bulk of their waking hours alone. Loneliness and social isolation are huge issues. One older adult approached an MRC Community when he found himself incredibly lonely and isolated. After moving into his new home, he commented, “My life was transformed by the Covenant Fund. I went from just barely living, almost just waiting to die, to having a community that I am a part of. Instead of just living until I die, I am now looking forward to life again.”
