She Is Jaelin’s goal was to create a site where women could come for current evidence-based information related to all areas of women’s health.

SHEis.com is your trusted resource for empowering women’s health info, from pregnancy to holistic wellness, founded by Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and Women Health Nurse Practitioner WHNP) Jaelin Stickels in 2016 🌸 www.SHEis.com is the idea of Jaelin Stickels a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) who works at a free standing birth center (https://www.nativiti.com/) in The Woodlands TX and owns her own homebirth business (https://www.hhhomebirth.com/) serving the North Houston area. As a Certified Nurse Midwife, she has a passion for women’s health and everything related to it. The site started out as a simple news repository but quickly grew to include original content from amazing women contributors. Today, the site has a team of support staff and contributors, tens of thousands of social media followers and is growing every day. www.SHEisSHOP.com is an extension of our SHEis.com website. It allows us to finance not only the continuation of the website but also to give a portion of all profits to women’s charities that we feel are very important. This store is curated by pregnant and nursing mothers showing their likes and needs for healthy, fun and trendy solutions. We are constantly looking for new and exciting suppliers and products to add to our store so check back regularly for updates. If you have items you would like to see, we would love to hear from you support@sheis.com

Stay Strong,

Tell us in the comments things that were said to you (by friends, family, strangers, medical practitioners…) when you were pregnant that you wish they had kept to themselves.⁣

We’ll follow-up with a “What to say to a pregnant woman” post after this dumpster fire. 🙃

Tell us in the comments words that were said to you (by friends, family, medical practitioners, even strangers) while you were pregnant that made you relax your shoulders, take a deep breath, and feel safe and confident.

Her second VBAC at home! Did you know the risks of uterine rupture decreases with each successful va**nal birth? We love this family so much. This mom had a lot of things to work through and she did in such faith. Her twin girls were so excited and were aspiring midwives before the birth. One great question asked "Is being a midwife mostly waiting and laying around?" 🤣 Yes ma'am. While they thought waiting was boring, I am in awe of their mom, working hard and trusting her body.

Out and about for home visits today with my chauffeur. We will be all over. Give us a shout out if you see us!

Yea.. I actually said this to a client. Commenting on some healthy mucus that just came out of my client’s va**na has become the norm for me (and I love it! 😄).⁣

Tell us something your midwife has said to you that made you second-guess all that is appropriate and normal in this world.

The fourth trimester is real and it is rough. Healing, hormones, sleepless nights, and an identity shift nobody warns you about. My newest SHEis.com article breaks down what this season really looks like and how mothers can find their way back to themselves.

Yes, this one reads like a rant, because it is. Once you start listing all the inconsistent age laws, it’s hard to stop. Too young for this, old enough for that… no wonder everyone’s confused.

Life threw us a curveball when Ted had his heart attack this summer. He’s home now, getting stronger every day ❤️ and I’m so grateful.

That pause meant some articles I had already written didn’t make it to publishing, until now.

The first one is out:

Fear is not care. Fear is not consent. And it’s time we start saying so.

Our Story

What happens when a midwife and a mom share a passion?

Jaelin Stickels has a vision—to empower women to take control of their own healthcare and birth experiences through education in evidence-based research. As a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP), she has a passion for women’s health. In early 2016, she envisioned using the internet and social media to spread the word and start a movement that empowers women to take back their birth and health experiences from a top-down patriarchal healthcare system. Then she met client Melissa Steindl, who shared that passion and drive to help moms take control of the whole family’s health by teaching them about nutrition, natural living, and raising children as naturally as possible. A friendship was soon formed, followed by a website—She is…

Like two sticks rubbed together to start a flame, these two women ignited each other and began building an informative website, supplemented by compelling social media channels. Together they created SHEis.com, an ever-evolving hub for women to learn about all kinds of women’s health issues including natural birth, fertility, menstruation, menopause, nutrition, and a whole myriad of other women’s issues. The content focuses on pregnancy, birth and natural living, interacting with moms everywhere, and encouraging them in who they are—that they are strong, limitless, and essential!
