Join us for a free prayer shawl and fidget blanket lesson at Liberty Home Care and Hospice in Dunn! Whether you're a beginner or experienced, come learn how to create comforting prayer shawls for our hospice patients and connect with others who share a heart for giving.

Congratulations to Liberty Home Care of Dunn for receiving this week's ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ REVIEW OF THE WEEK.

“I would like to thank Liberty Home Care for all they did for me. I went into the hospital after collapsing at home. I spent days in the ICU, and at one point, did not think I would make it. The doctors had mentioned going to a nursing home and I did not want to.

I was discharged home and Liberty took me for care. Camillia was my nurse, along with Christina. They made sure that anything new that happened to me they caught right away and contacted my doctor. I came home on oxygen and they were able to help wean me off of it safely. They taught me all about congestive heart failure. This was a new problem to me.

Allan was my therapist and he took me from barely walking and using a walker to I am now able to leave home without even my cane most days. I required someone to stay with me around the clock because I was so weak and now I have gained back so much of my independence.

Allan kept me smiling and laughing the whole time. He was such a blessing. Karen came and helped teach me how to get in and out of the tub safely, something I never thought I’d need help with. She made me feel comfortable during the process and encouraged me. I had two aides, Crystal and Melissa. Both were very nice and patient with me.

Thank you, Liberty, for not giving up on me. At 87 and as sick as I was, I am grateful to have these caring people that turned into what felt like family.”

Liberty Home Care and Hospice of Whiteville and Elizabethtown recently came together for a big celebration!

As part of Liberty Health's 150th year celebration, our team enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Olive Garden, where we recognized new team members, honored recent employee anniversaries and celebrated being named BEST HOME CARE AND HOSPICE in Bladen County! 🏆✨

We are proud of our dedicated staff and the compassionate care they provide to our patients and families every day. 💙

💜 Bereavement Support 💜

Walking Through Grief is a peer support group, exploring what grief is and how to be intentional while charting a course for healing. You can join Liberty Hospice Family Support Counselor Nicole Kirk every third Thursday of the month on Microsoft Teams or by calling in toll free. Join us this Thursday, August 21st.

🧵 Community Outreach Representative Sabrina Grant and Timothy Locklear recently joined the sewing group at Community CPR in Whiteville for a special class on creating memory bears. Together, they shared techniques and tips to craft these heartfelt keepsakes, which bring comfort and preserve cherished memories.

Meet Carrie and her sweet therapy dog, Primrose—a gentle Great Pyrenees who has stolen the hearts of residents and staff at Golden Years Nursing Home. 🐾

Every visit, Prim brings calm and joy to everyone, reminding us just how powerful the bond between people and pets can be. Whether she’s soaking up cuddles or simply sitting by a resident’s side, Prim makes each moment special.

We’re so grateful to Carrie for sharing Primrose with us and for the time, compassion, and smiles they bring to everyone. You’re both truly making a difference! 🐶✨

Community Outreach Representative Sherry McCoy was honored to represent Liberty Hospice at the Elevate Hope Mills event to help shine a light on the many services available to the Hope Mills community.

One of the most meaningful moments came from speaking with local seniors who stopped by to learn more about Liberty Hospice. Several shared personal stories and experiences with our care, reminding us why we do what we do.

A particularly touching conversation took place with an attendee, who spoke about her 95-year-old mother living with Alzheimer’s. As we talked, she asked for a hug and shed tears of relief knowing there’s support available for them both. Moments like these are powerful reminders of the importance of listening, caring, and being present.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by—we’re grateful for the opportunity to serve and support our community. 💜
