Liberty Home Care and Hospice was proud to attend the 2026 Senior Wellness Expo hosted by the Council on Aging in Union County. Hospice Liaison Lauren Henry and Community Outreach Representative Mackenzie Salerno enjoyed meeting local seniors and caregivers while sharing information about our home health, palliative and hospice care services.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to provide education, resources and compassionate support to the communities we serve. 💙

Liberty Hospice of Fayetteville gathered for a special staff meeting filled with reflection and appreciation. We were amazed to see just how much our team has grown!

Administrator Ron Tatum took a moment to honor Clinical Manager Felisa Williams, recognizing her unwavering dedication and the countless hours she devotes to supporting our team and the patients we serve. He presented Felisa with a gift as a small token of appreciation for her compassionate leadership.

The meeting also included a touching memorial for our patients who recently passed. Through a beautiful slideshow and sharing memories, we honored the lives entrusted to our care. A vase holding 42 rocks—each representing a life remembered—served as a powerful and meaningful tribute.

At Liberty Hospice, we believe that every moment, every story and every life matters. Compassion, teamwork and remembrance are at the heart of everything we do. 💜

🌿 A Meaningful Tribute 🌿

In our office in Clinton, you will find a beautifully hand-drawn and painted remembrance tree—a heartfelt project created by members of our Liberty Hospice team to honor the loved ones entrusted to our care.

When a patient passes, we add a leaf with their name to the tree. Our team then gathers to reflect, share stories and celebrate the life they lived.

This remembrance tree serves as a tribute to the profound connections we are privileged to build with the patients and families in our care while honoring their life story. 💜

Ron Pontiff wears his “Not Dead Yet” shirt with pride—and with purpose. Because despite ALS and all the challenges it brings, Ron is still here and still living.

Our Liberty Hospice team helps him stay comfortable, supported and surrounded by dignity. That care allows Ron to focus on what matters most: the people he loves and the moments that bring him joy, connection and peace.

Ron’s story is a powerful reminder that hospice isn’t about dying. It’s about living—living with support, living with compassion and living with the highest possible quality of life.

🎉 Celebrating Annette Brown’s Retirement! 🎉

Our team gathered at Longhorn Steakhouse to honor Annette Brown, who is retiring after an incredible 32 years of service.

Annette was the scheduler for our Liberty Home Care offices in Charlotte, Raeford, Southern Pines and Wadesboro. Her commitment over the years left a lasting impact on everyone she worked with. We are grateful for the dedication and heart she brought to Liberty Home Care.

Please join us in wishing Annette all the best as she begins this new chapter. 💙

🧵 Sewing Volunteer Opportunities 🧵

A simple stitch can bring comfort and healing for our hospice families.

These beautiful Memory Bears were lovingly sewn for the wife of one of our patients in Roanoke Rapids who recently passed away. Made from her husband’s clothing, each bear is a heartfelt keepsake—something to hold close, grieve with and cherish forever. 🧸💜

Memory Bears give families a tangible way to remember the ones they love, and we are looking for volunteers with sewing experience to help us continue offering this special gift. This is a meaningful volunteer opportunity you can do from home, using your talents to bring comfort to hospice families during some of their most difficult moments.

If you enjoy sewing and feel called to make a difference, we would be honored to have you join our volunteer team.

Congratulations to Liberty Hospice of Sanford for receiving this week's ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ REVIEW OF THE WEEK.

“I can’t say enough about Liberty Hospice of Sanford. They took such excellent care of my uncle two years ago. He was stubborn and did what he wanted to. The girls from hospice had him so comfortable. If they said “jump,” he would say how high! Having them visiting and taking care of him really brought him out of his shell. Sam, the chaplain, is awesome. Kudos to the entire team for what they do. All of them together make illness easier for patient and families.”

💖 Sharing Love and Support 💖

Community Outreach Representative Ashley Davis teamed up with Liaison Melissa Shaw and our friends at Peak Resources to help host their Valentine’s Day Party—complete with a delicious cake for residents to enjoy. 🍰💘

Ashley also attended Southport Senior Center’s Valentine’s Day Bash, where she shared helpful resources about our home health, palliative and hospice care services while celebrating with community members. A highlight of the day? The crowning of the Valentine’s King and Queen! 👑

At Liberty, community outreach is at the heart of what we do. We’re honored to support local seniors, build meaningful connections and provide compassionate education about the care we offer. 💙
