Remember: there is no such thing as a healthy tan.

Melanin is a pigment in your skin that gives it color and defends it against the sun’s rays by darkening your unprotected, sun-exposed skin. The amount of melanin you produce is determined by genetics, which is why some people get sunburned, while others tan. However, 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 are signs of UV damage to the skin and 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 can cause cellular damage that can lead to skin cancer.
