Eating disorders don’t have a single face, story, or cause — and recovery is not one-size-fits-all.

During Eating Disorder Awareness Week, we’re committed to sharing education, challenging misconceptions, and holding space for the truth: healing is possible, and no one has to navigate this journey alone.

Awareness is the beginning. Compassion is what carries us forward. 🤍

We’re here! Gathered, grounded, and grateful. 🤍

Kicking off the iaedp Symposium surrounded by people who believe, as deeply as we do, that healing is possible for every person who seeks it. There’s something powerful that happens when a community like this comes together: shared wisdom, shared purpose, and a collective commitment to care that is truly Soul Hearted.

As we step into these next few days, we’re carrying curiosity, openness, and appreciation for all we’ll learn. Here’s to connection, collaboration, and the work that changes lives.

🌼 A note from Jordan Watson, CEO:

There’s something tender that happens when you show up with an open heart and steadfast resolve. In my garden, my daughter and I pressed petals into the grass to make this piece of art. The experience reminded me of the work we’ve done over the past year at Alsana and continue to do now.

Making flower art with a three-year-old on a windy day is a great teacher. Each breeze reminded me that beauty doesn’t arrive perfected; it’s made, remade, and a practice of becoming. That, to me, is what Soul Hearted means.

To be Soul Hearted is to show up fully in your commitments, your relationships, and your work. It’s the courage to keep tending, even when the wind blows, even when things aren’t neat or finished, and even when it’s hard. It’s the willingness to create something meaningful because it’s the right thing to do.

At Alsana, this isn’t a slogan. It’s the way we move through the world. A way of working that honors authenticity, invites collaboration, and believes that every person deserves to know their worth. Every day we’re learning, growing, and building — not for perfection, but because we believe in the practice of becoming.

This is only a glimpse of what Soul Hearted means to me. I’d love for you to read the rest of my heart on the blog, where I all summarize many of the changes we have implemented over the past year. 🤍

🌼 Today, we’re celebrating our Soul Hearted Daisy Award winners.

Melissa C***s, Senior Director of Clinical Services; Isabel Bryer, Program Director; and Ayla Leal, Lead Therapist, are team members who truly live out our mission, vision, and values every single day. Their passion, dedication, and heart reflect our three truths in action, and the impact they make on our clients and team is immeasurable.

We were honored to recognize them at our recent board meeting, where they shared space with leadership and were celebrated for the care and commitment they bring to their work. This recognition is a small thank you for the love they pour into what they do.

Please join us in celebrating these incredible humans! 💛

We believe that everyone who enters Alsana — clients, families, providers, and team members — deserves to experience our Three Truths. 🌱

- To feel rooted: connected to care, community, and self.
- To feel engaged: genuinely seen, supported, and present in the work of healing.
- To feel respected: honored for who they are and how they show up.

These truths shape an environment where healing can take hold.

From Chef's thoughtfully prepared meals to our care counselors creating special Valentine treats, every part of our program is rooted in intention, warmth, and heart. These everyday acts of care help create an environment where clients feel seen, supported, and valued.

It’s the little touches that make a big difference. We’re grateful for the people who bring that spirit to life each day. ✨

Love doesn’t always arrive with grand gestures.

Sometimes, love looks like nourishment. Like rest. Like choosing yourself gently, again and again.

This Valentine’s Day, we honor all the ways care shows up — especially the quiet, inward ones. However today meets you, we hope it carries compassion. 🫶🏼

You are good. You are worthy.
You deserve flowers.

You are imperfect. You are flawed.
You deserve flowers.

You are trying. Grasping. Hoping.

You deserve flowers.

You are struggling. You’ve lost hope.
You deserve flowers.

You are growing, learning. Never the same. Ever evolving.
You deserve flowers.

No matter who you are today, who you were yesterday, who you’ll be tomorrow.
You will always deserve flowers. 🌸

🌼 Flowers mark moments of joy and grief, beginnings and endings, love and remembrance. There are also metaphorical flowers, those words offered with care and intention. Things like, “I see you.” “You matter.” “I’m glad you’re here.” These offerings take root, bringing color back to places that once felt unseen.

At Alsana, we choose the daisy as our symbol because it represents new beginnings, gentle resilience, and hope during times of transition. For centuries, daisies have also been associated with healing—an echo of our mission to support restoration and wholeness.

They open toward the light each day, serving as a quiet reminder that starting again doesn’t have to be loud or perfect. It can be soft. It can be steady. It can be real.

In short, a daisy says: You don’t need to prove anything to be worthy of beauty. You simply get to exist, and that is enough.

We believe everyone deserves flowers, in every chapter, without condition.

💬 We’d love to know: What do flowers mean to you?

Leadership at Alsana doesn’t sit behind a desk. It pulls up a chair. 🫶🏼

Our Soul Hearted approach to care is evident in how we lead, train, and show up for one another every single day. It’s not just talked about in meetings; it’s lived in the programs. In real time, side by side with our clinicians, and around the table with our clients.

From sharing meals together to being present in the work, our leaders model the very values we hope to see ripple through every level of our teams. Because at Alsana, mentorship and leadership aren’t just titles; they’re practices. And whether you’re a Clinical Director, a mentor, or a new team member, every role matters in creating the kind of care our clients deserve.

💫 If you missed it, we shared more about our mentorship program on Friday. It’s a beautiful extension of this hands-on, relational way of leading.
