It’s time for Summer Camp registration! ☀️

We are beyond excited to kick off our second year of camp for teens and adults at Dream in Westlake Village, CA! Get ready for 8 weeks of inclusive recreation, hands-on learning, and engaging activities from June 16 through August 7.

Camp will take place in our newer, larger space in the same building! 🎉 There will be plenty of room to move, be active, and break out into smaller groups for more focused activities. Our Dream Team program will also have their own dedicated space to gather and connect. We’re also thrilled to share that Pearl and Marjorie will be back to lead and support our amazing campers again this summer. 💛

🎼 Music Instructor Assistant Internship
Dream Community Center, located in Westlake Village, CA, is seeking a compassionate, musically inclined Music Instructor Assistant Intern to support our music programming for neurodivergent teens and adults during the Spring semester (12 weeks). This unpaid internship is eligible for 1 college credit and requires 5 hours per week.

The intern will work closely with and receive training and mentorship from an experienced music instructor while helping facilitate inclusive, creative musical jam sessions designed to support emotional expression, communication, and overall well-being.

Sessions incorporate listening activities, improvisation, rhythm-based exercises, and group jam sessions.

✅ Key Responsibilities
Assist the lead music instructor during group music sessions
Support facilitation of musical jam sessions with neurodivergent teens and adults
Encourage participant engagement in a warm, patient, and inclusive manner
Help with basic setup and breakdown of instruments and materials
Observe and learn adaptive and therapeutic music facilitation techniques
Collaborate with staff to maintain a supportive and respectful learning environment.
⏰ Time Commitment & Schedule
5 hours per week
12-week Spring semester commitment
Must be available to work in Westlake Village, CA for at least 5 hours within the following time frames:
Mondays: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Thursdays: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Eligibility & Qualifications
Music majors or musically inclined
college students
strongly encouraged to apply
Experience with music (formal or informal) such as playing an instrument, singing, songwriting, or improvisation
Interest in working with neurodivergent teens and adults
Patience, empathy, reliability, and a genuine passion for community service
A “big heart” and openness to learning are essential 💛
