Ben Karle for Three Rivers School Board

Ben Karle for Three Rivers School Board This is Ben Karle and I am excited to announce my candidacy for Three Rivers Community Schools Board Joseph County. I'm starting my 8th year with the St.

I believe in the famous quote “education is both a tool for social justice as well as a fundamental driver of economic development.” I have spent the last 13 in Three Rivers. I worked for Community Mental Health as a Home Based Therapist for 7 years. My job consisted of having sessions with kids in all schools within St. Joseph County Intermediate School District as the Department Chair for School

Social Work. If elected I will take time to notice and appreciate the talents, efforts, and contributions of students and staff. I will focus on forming positive relationships with students and staff as a means to transforming school culture. I will work to improve the well-balanced educational experience of our students, I will advocate for students of all ages, backgrounds, various learning styles, extra-curricular preferences, career and college readiness, robust early childhood opportunities, and family-school-community partnerships. As a lifelong believer in the power of public education, I share the concerns of so many others about the current and future challenges we are experiencing. Together, we can lead the way to powerful changes!

Thank you to the Three Rivers Commercial News for continuing to cover our meetings. We appreciate your patience as we navigate the start of yet another incredibly complex school year.

I unequivocally support a mask mandate for our valuable young students who do not yet have access to the life saving vaccine.

Vaccines, and properly worn masks, are our ticket back to a "normal" school year.

These mitigation efforts are how our schools will be able to stay open.

Our valuable, and vulnerable, young people deserve it.

Our teachers deserve out support.

Think globally, act locally.
