Everyone is starting to realize how important fascia is when it comes to training the body, but most people still underestimate how deeply it influences movement.

Hydrated fascia behaves very differently, down to the cellular level. Not only does it participate in bioelectric signaling, it also plays a major role in how much range of motion your body can access during exercise. When this tissue is loaded correctly, it becomes elastic and responsive. Your muscles coordinate better, your posture improves, and energy becomes more stable because your body isn’t fighting itself to move.

When this tissue loses its elasticity and structural organization, your body begins moving in ways that increase tension, stiffness, and joint stress in the wrong areas. This is when people start experiencing the movement degradation that eventually leads to pain. Hydration in the body isn’t just about drinking more water. It depends on restoring the mechanical conditions that allow fluid to move through your tissue with minimal friction.

The visual on the left is exactly what we help you overcome through our training. This is what you see in the transformations we help people achieve, where their bodies begin to look more viscoelastic and full.

If you want to improve your movement, you not only need to strengthen the muscles that are weak, you also need to build the mechanics that distribute tension efficiently throughout your fascial system. The quality of your movement determines the quality of your tissue.

Creating a calm, peaceful environment can help reduce stress and anxiety. A clean space, soft lighting, and calming scents can make a huge difference in your mood.

✨ Wellness Wednesday Tip: Set up a relaxation corner with your favorite calming elements—a comfy chair, a plant, candles, or essential oils.

Positive Affirmation: "I create peace and calm in my environment and in my life."

It’s Muscle Monday! The lats are where we’re spending time this week and goodness, do these muscles do a lot! Not only do they help you with upper body movements and contribute to good posture, but they’re also key for stabilizing your trunk and supporting your ribs during deep breathing (or for when you cough or sneeze!).

🌟 Muscle of the Week: The Latissimus Dorsi 🌟
The lats, or latissimus dorsi, are large muscles in the back that help with arm movements like pulling and lifting. They’re engaged when you raise your arms or pull something toward you and they can play a major role in your respiratory function.

🧘‍♂️ Stretch to Try:
Overhead Side Stretch: Stand tall, reach both arms overhead, and gently lean to one side, feeling the stretch along your lats. Hold for 20-30 seconds on each side.

Lat tension is very common if you’ve just had a respiratory illness where you’ve spent a lot of time coughing or sneezing. It’s also common if you’re actively rowing or strength training using these muscles.

If you’re feeling tense in this area, book an appointment with Mobile Om to not only get relief, but to discuss some personalized stretches you can do for after care that can support this critical muscle group. Book online or call 570-780-5858: https://mobileom.pro/

We love a little something sweet at the end of a massage appointment, but healthy eating is so important to how you feel every day.

What you eat affects how you feel, both mentally and physically. Try to eat the rainbow by introducing a variety of fruits and vegetables into your diet, along with lean proteins and whole grains.

Eating with mindfulness can also help you make healthier choices and improve digestion.

✨ Wellness Wednesday Tip: Eat slowly and savor each bite. This not only aids digestion but helps you feel more satisfied with less food.

Positive Affirmation: "I nourish my body with healthy, balanced food. I listen to my body’s needs."

If you carry heavy backpacks or bags every day, find yourself waking up in the morning feeling tense after sleeping on your side, get pain after hunching at your keyboard for too long, or feel a twinge after practicing your golf swing, then you might need a little extra care for your rhomboids!

This muscle group, and our focus for this Muscle Monday, plays a key role in so many of your everyday movements, like pushing, throwing, pulling, or moving your arms overhead.

🌟 Muscle of the Week: The Rhomboids 🌟
The rhomboids are muscles between your shoulder blades that help retract the scapula (shoulder blades) and assist with posture. They help you squeeze your shoulder blades together and contribute to a variety of different movements.

🧘‍♀️ Stretch to Try:
Thread the Needle: From all fours, slide one arm underneath your body and rest your shoulder and head on the floor. Hold for 20-30 seconds on each side to stretch the rhomboids and upper back.

Rhomboid pain is super common and we often meet with clients who describe feeling tension in their upper back or shoulders. If you’re feeling this way, know that you can find some relief through therapeutic massage. Let us take care of you!
