Many of us are carrying grief, anger, fear, exhaustion, and deep concern for our communities and families as we live through ongoing political injustice. When the world feels unstable, self-care can feel indulgent—or even wrong—yet burnout helps no one.
Together, with Dr. Michele D. Ribeiro - a Licensed Psychologist, Certified Group Psychotherapist, Certified Yoga & Meditation Instructor, we’ll discuss:
-How to care for ourselves while living inside systems of injustice
-How to take meaningful action without being consumed by anger, hopelessness, or burnout
-The complicated guilt of self-care when our families and communities are suffering
-Navigating family relationships strained or broken by political differences, when disagreement feels like betrayal
-What research tells us about mental health, resilience, and collective care during political turmoil and resistance
-Practical, embodied tools to ground the nervous system and restore capacity during overwhelming times
These are hard topics. We’re not promising easy answers or neat resolutions. What we can offer is space to slow down, reflect together, and leave with some tools that may help you meet these times with a little more steadiness and care.
