Something beautiful just happened this week.
I got to give energy healing to a patient in the hospital for the first time. This has been something I have been wanting to do since the need is so great, but it felt like I was always fighting against the timing and the ethos of what was considered acceptable forms of healing in a hospital system.
Since, I mostly have been volunteering with cancer patients, it started with someone simply asking for my help. She knew a person close to her that had been in a hospital for 2 weeks and had extreme anxiety with all that she had gone through and was wondering if I could help relieve stress and anxiousness. I said yes, I definitely can do that.
I soon arrived at the hospital armed with my tuning forks, healing music, folding table, and my spirit guides. Hospitals never make me nervous, but it is still a humbling experience, even though I have been in the medical field most of my life.
As I walked through the hallway, the fluorescent lights were blinding everyone on the floor. The nurses station was as busy as ever and there was definitely a little chaos in the air. Once, I made my way to the second hall to the right, I noticed the hallway was dim and no one was by the nurses station and it was quiet. “Ah”, I said aloud to my guides “thanks for setting the stage for healing!”
I walked into the patient’s room with her loved one and introduced myself. The nurse came to check on the patient and was informed what I was here to do. She was very optimistic and kindly suggested we leave a don’t disturb note on the front door for the next hour. I was delighted! The gatekeepers were on the job.
I set my things up and explained what I was going to do and we both set an intention for the session. I turned off the lights and let the natural light come in through the window and started the healing music. About 10 minutes into the session, the patient said she felt very peaceful and fell into a restful sleep.
Her loved one was so impressed because she hadn’t been able to rest for days let alone sleep. We all know it is nearly impossible to rest in a hospital room with glaring lights, peeping machines, and the occasional vampire taking blood tests every other hour. (I was one of those proud phlebotomist. I know how important it is to be part of the care team. But it definitely is not a place built for healing.) As the session went on for about 45 mins, she was still asleep, and I did not wake her up because she needed the rest. I just told her loved one that once she was awake to just text me back with her honest feedback.
Here is what she wrote later: “I really enjoyed the session today and especially the healing girls around my head, I really like that frequency. I slept for a good while until the nurse woke me up.”
That made my day. I love helping people with my healings and obviously I wasn’t the only one who had worked on her. I hope to do more sessions like this.
If you know anyone that would benefit from an energy healing session in the Portland Metro area hospitals feel free to get a hold of me. Would love to help. 💛
