KidStrong Timonium KidStrong is a science-based kids training program that builds strong, confident and high-character kids.

KidStrong is Athletic Play—a new kind of activity for kids ages 1-11 that builds confidence, character and family connection through science-based fitness games led by expert coaches. Our program is designed with the whole child in mind, focusing on three key pillars: Character, Physical and Cognitive development. We teach kids to believe in themselves, show parents their kid’s superpowers and help families grow together in moments of celebration and showing off.

At KidStrong, leg day is also brain day, balance day and confidence day—all in one!

That’s because we focus on the squat—a powerful move that really matters. Why?

✅ Squats don’t just build strong legs—they engage the core, glutes and spine to support the whole body!

✅ Deep squats improve hip, knee and ankle flexibility—all of which are important for running, jumping, climbing and good posture.

✅ Squats are one of the most essential movements for a healthy life. Think: picking up a backpack, getting up from the floor or general physical fitness.

Push-ups aren’t just a strength exercise—they’re a developmental power move. 💪

This week at KidStrong, we’re celebrating our kids’ progress in gymnastics-based skills, especially the push-up—a foundational movement with BIG benefits:

💪 Full body strength—Push-ups are one of the most efficient ways to build total-body strength safely.

🧠 Mind-body connection—Proper form requires coordination between the brain and the body, stabilizing the spine, aligning the joints, and controlling the movement from start to finish.

💥 Confidence—Gymnastics skills help kids learn what their bodies can do, adjust their movements in real-time, and work through challenges to build confidence.

That’s what we love about push-ups at KidStrong. They don’t just help kids get physically stronger, they help them believe in their own ability to work hard and improve.

Teamwork is so much more than “playing nice.”

At KidStrong we use team-based challenges to develop critical skills like problem solving, communication and empathy. Kids who learn to work together are learning how to live a happy, socially connected life. 🙌 🙌

Here’s what research shows teamwork helps develop in kids:

🧠 Executive function: Competitions like the shuttle run team obstacle courses require attention, planning and problem-solving—all of which are tied to academic success, too.*

Balance may look like a beam and a few careful steps—but it is SO much more.

🌟 This week at KidStrong, we’re proud to see so many kids conquering balance challenges and building skills for life along the way!🌟

While practicing balance, kids are also building:

⚖️ Focus: Staying steady starts with concentration.
⚖️ Core strength: Balance challenges activate key muscles that support stability and power for every move we make.
⚖️ Cognitive awareness: Balance stimulates the vestibular system (inner ear), which connects to brain areas in charge of learning and attention.
⚖️ Motor skills: Balance refines gross motor skills and fine motor skills alike, helping kids get the grounding they need for precise movements.
⚖️ A healthy future: Walking, running, good posture, even carrying backpacks and reaching for items on high shelves require balance and stability.

It isn’t all fun and games—even though a lot of it is! By practicing balance, kids learn how to move through the world with confidence, so they’re ready to face any challenge life throws their way. 💪

After weeks of building strength, confidence, and character, they’re stepping up to demonstrate their hard-earned skills in:
✔ Parkour. Speed, agility, balance—kids are mastering movement and having FUN while doing it!
✔ Rope Climbs. Strength, strategy and resilience come together as kids rise (literally!) to new heights.
✔ Emotional Literacy. From managing nerves to cheering on teammates, they’re connecting, communicating, and learning about themselves.

At , every activity is designed with purpose—and the rope climb is no exception. 🧗‍♂️🪢

It’s about more than just physical strength (though we build that, too!). Rope climbs teach real-life skills that kids carry beyond the KidStrong class, including:

✔ Coordination and balance. Rope climbs are a full-body challenge that builds gross and fine motor skills.
✔ Problem-solving. Climbing isn’t just about strong arms and shoulders. It’s about planning your next move, adjusting your grip and making decisions on the go.
✔ Emotional resilience. Rope climbs can be tough. But every “I can’t” that becomes an “I did it!” boosts confidence, courage and self-belief.

Whether it's reaching the top or learning through the attempt, every climb helps kids grow stronger in body and mind. 🧠❤️💪
