🧶 Topic: Circular Weaving using Yarn and Embroidery Hoops

🌿 This supportive art therapy group invites you to slow your body and mind through the simple, rhythmic act of weaving. Using yarn and embroidery hoops, participants will create a soft circular tapestry, with the option to incorporate felt or fabric for added texture and personal meaning. No prior experience is needed—this is about exploration, not perfection.

🧘‍♀️ The circular form and repetitive motion offer a grounding, meditative experience that can support relaxation, emotional expression, and a sense of steadiness during uncertain times. Participants are encouraged to follow their intuition, work at their own pace, and enjoy the process of building something gently and organically.

🎨 let’s create together!!

When a loved one is diagnosed with cancer, children may feel overwhelmed or unsure about what they can and cannot control. This supportive art therapy group offers kids a safe, creative space to explore those feelings in a way that feels natural and accessible!

Using alcohol inks on tile, children will experiment with color, movement, and choice - discovering what they can guide and what they can let go of through playful, hands-on artmaking. The process encourages curiosity, emotional expression, and flexibility, rather than focusing on getting things “right.”

This group also provides an opportunity for connection with peers who may be experiencing similar challenges, helping children feel less alone while expressing themselves through art. 🩵

We are excited to announce a new program launching at AIHC called Creative Compass. We believe this program addresses a gap in services within our community by providing intensive mental health care for adults who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy alone, using an integrative approach.

For many clients, top-down approaches are simply not enough. Creative Compass offers integrative art and expressive arts day treatment groups that incorporate visual art, movement, and music to support healing, emotional expression, and regulation.

Creative Compass will offer art-based treatment groups 3–4 days per week. Clients who need more support than traditional outpatient care may attend 1–4 days per week for groups facilitated by licensed art and expressive arts therapists.

This program is free for Medicaid clients and $25 per day for self-pay or commercial insurance.

Creative Compass is an excellent option for adults who:
1.Feel individual therapy alone is not enough
2.Are seeking creative and integrative ways to express emotions
3.Need increased support
4.Are interested in therapeutic modalities outside of traditional talk therapy

What’s not needed:
•Art experience

Art and expressive arts therapy is not about creating a final product. It focuses on creative expression and processing experiences in a supportive, therapeutic environment.

Grief can take many forms—from the loss of a loved one to major life changes or unexpected transitions. Grief & Grace offers a welcoming, supportive space to explore and express these experiences through art, especially when words feel hard to find. There is no “right” way to grieve and no art experience needed—just a willingness to show up as you are. Each session invites reflection, connection, and healing through creativity as you discover your own path forward.
