What would it feel like to be able to go on a date or dine out with 🚫food stress?⁣

I can tell you; it’s amazing to be able to go out to breakfast on a whim, have a drink with my friends or enjoy the cake at the birthday party. ⁣

It wasn’t always this easy for me though.⁣

After following new “diet trends” like 21 Day Fix, keto, Whole 30, paleo, etc and then competing with a strict “bro diet” I felt trapped by rules with food.⁣

I stressed about date night and what I would order.⁣

I gave into the birthday cake and then ate extra out of guilt which led to... more guilt.⁣

I couldn’t enjoy the social experience because my thoughts were consumed with food stress.⁣

I actually wondered if it was possible to ever just eat like a normal human being or if I would always be stuck with a “cheat meal” per week.⁣

It took time and practice, but I found what works for me so I can have BOTH the health/body that I want AND the lifestyle I want.⁣

💞It starts with self forgiveness and loving yourself enough to say “I deserve to enjoy my food.”

First, I learned about macros and flexible dieting to understood the science behind food. ⁣

Then I learned how to adjust my food to accommodate social eating experiences.⁣

Then I learned how to maintain my results while eating more intuitively for maximum freedom beyond macros.⁣

💡And that is exactly the process I take clients through.⁣

1️⃣Understanding macros and the breakdown of food and HOW/WHY it works is a critical step. You to see results quickly because it’s precise. The more specific your goals are, the more specific your food should be.⁣

2️⃣ Then we practice social eating in small doses and estimate or go without tracking for single meals.⁣

3️⃣ Then we take the estimation and intuitive skills and apply them more frequently when we are ready to maintain results.⁣

I might track my food if I have a specific goal, but I am finally at a place where I can just eat, stress free, and still love my body.⁣

FlashBACK Friday... are you trying to make your waist smaller or “tone up”?

one way to achieve this is to build your back.⁣

It’s very common for us to neglect our posterior chain of muscles.⁣

We are hauling groceries, carrying kids, vacuuming, washing dishes, etc and our anterior (front) muscles get a lot of activity. ⁣

I recommend for many women that for every front exercise you do 2 back exercises to help balance this out.⁣

By balancing your body you will also have better posture and be stronger 👏🏼💪🏼⁣

But anywho... look at how boxy I look in the top left photo. And the bottom photo my waist looks tapered and small because I worked on building my “lats” to create the illusion. ⁣

And for the record, by working your lats you are NOT burning fat from that area. That is a myth 🤦🏻‍♀️⁣⁣

Are you trying to “tone up” and believe that you need to “confuse” your body to see results? 🤔⁣

I will admit that this one had me fooled back in the day...🤦🏻‍♀️⁣

It was one way to get me to buy the new program it try the new thing... 💸💸💸⁣

And also one way to keep me stuck.⁣

💡What I’ve learned though my own experience and also backed by research is that muscles don’t get “confused.”⁣

💡They simply respond to the demand being placed on them. 💡⁣

📌More demand = they grow⁣

📌Less demand = they shrink ⁣

📌Same demand = “plateau” aka maintain⁣

👉🏼If you goal is to “tone” it means you need to build a little muscle (and lose a little fat to reveal a more defined look)⁣

So to keep those results coming it’s as simple as just placing more demand on those muscle groups.⁣

❌You don’t have to get all crazy and change up exercises!⁣

In fact, when I’m being really serious about it, I keep my week of workouts the same for 4 week periods and focus on changing the heaviness of the weight. ⁣

Then every 4 weeks I might add just one more set for the next 4 weeks.⁣

I find that when I change up exercises too frequently, it is harder to see if I’m progressing.⁣

👇🏼👇🏼Here’s an example:⁣

week 1️⃣ : 3 sets of 12 reps with 10lbs in each hand trying to increase to 12.5lbs⁣

Week 5️⃣: 4 sets of 12 with 12.5lbs trying to increase to 15⁣

Week 9️⃣: 5 sets of 12 with 15 (or maybe some at 15 and some at 12.5 depending on how many reps I can do with proper form)⁣

🔅I DO like changing up exercises for the sake of boredom so if that’s you, I recommend keeping some basic effective exercises in that you track (ie squat, overhead press, deadlift, row, etc) and adding some spice with the other change ups.🔅⁣

There are MANY ways to increase the demand on your muscles to continue building them. I’ll do a post soon on my 4 favorite ways to achieve PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD. ⁣

I shared the full pics to my stories today because it’s so often that another female will tell me she wishes she could just “have my body.”⁣

Or maybe she doesn’t say it, but I can tell she assumes it’s been easy for me or I’ve always looked this way while she shames herself.⁣

Here’s the thing, babe⁣

I’ve felt fat, skinny, tiny, unhealthy, unhappy, weak, strong, bloated, lean, shredded, fit, healthy, happy and balanced.⁣

I’ve been through it all. All seasons.⁣

And I will tell you that it is SEASONS, not 12 weeks...⁣

I’ve consistently just tried to improve and stack my efforts by learning more and choosing to stretch just a little more outside of my comfort zone when I mastered something.⁣

If you were to hammer just one nail a day into a home being built, but everyday you kept chipping away (and remained patient and consistent) eventually you would have a home.⁣

Good news. ⁣

Your body IS your home and you can build it however you want.⁣

Also note, each season has a purpose and beauty so HONOR it.⁣

Was my body aesthetically perfect after having a baby?! No. ⁣

But was it incredible? Strong? Yes. ⁣

I grew and gave life to two beautiful babies. I also had med free deliveries and breastfed. ⁣

Even when I’m not my leanest or visually perfect, my body is a miracle.⁣

And so is yours.⁣

7️⃣ways to make content creation FLOW easier👩🏻‍💻👨🏼‍💻⁣

You ever have those days where you are like “wtf do I talk about next? I feel like I keep saying the same things.”⁣

Creative juices run low and you just feel burned out.⁣

I actually don’t experience this, so I wish I could say I relate, and I think the fact that I don’t experience this means I have figured out the secret sauce.⁣

Let me share a few things that work for me!⁣

1️⃣Change your scenery: if you normally write content from Starbucks, or home, try a new place. I like to find a new coffee shop or a bench at a park. I’m actually writing this from a pedicure chair at the salon right now!⁣

2️⃣Do something out of routine: Our brain functions on autopilot which can be a good thing since it reserves mental bandwidth for other more important things. For the sake of creativity, take a new road or route when driving your normal routes. Brush your teeth with your other hand; it actually strengthens neural connections in your 🧠⁣

3️⃣Take notes: Listen to what your audience and clients are telling you. 📝Take notes of those messages and conversations for topics and ideas. I love for storing my ideas. I make a quick note and come back to it another day to write.⁣

4️⃣Repurpose: Don’t be afraid to repeat topics and share them from a new angle. If you did a written post, you could share the same idea as an info graphic, video or even elaborate in your stories.⁣

5️⃣Let your hair down: Take some time off “work” and go do things that light your soul up. For me, it’s a furniture repurpose, 💃🏻with my friends or watching a funny movie.⁣

6️⃣Create before you consume: Before you sit down to create content, don’t open your app and read what everyone else is posting. Stay in your zone of creative genius and let your ideas flow without influence.⁣

7️⃣Batch more: Rather than writing content every single day, I like to dedicate a few hours at a time to batching some posts. I get into a better creative flow! It also gives my creative mind a break for a few days vs trying to get into that every single day in between other tasks.⁣

IF YOU HAD THE CURE FOR CANCER WOULD YOU WAIT FOR PEOPLE TO ASK YOU ABOUT IT OR WOULD YOU WANT TO TELL EVERYONE?⁣

You may believe that your content should be the ONLY thing you should need to do to be generating a ton of leads.⁣

While I don’t disagree that your content can be powerful enough to draw the right clients to you, I disagree that you should never message people and just sit back waiting for leads to pour in.⁣

Does it feel icky to you and that is why you avoid it?⁣

Believe me, I used to feel that way! Partially because:⁣

1️⃣I once was a Beachbody coach taught how to start a convo to try and pitch BB to people⁣

2️⃣ I get the most annoying fake convo starters (“hey girl... I know we haven’t talked since high school, but your kids are cute and do you want to buy my Thrive?”)⁣

3️⃣ I get spam messages from accounts using bots (knock it off, losers... )⁣

4️⃣ I was afraid of rejection or that someone would think poorly of me if I sent a message⁣

I had HUGE mindset blocks around messaging people about their fitness goals and potentially working together.⁣

P.S. I found that when I shifted my mindset and started messaging people I often got this response, “OMG I am so glad you asked, I’ve been meaning to message you but...” ⁣

🤦🏻‍♀️So here we both were just waiting for the other person to take action and months went by.⁣

I assumed they would be bothered by me or ignore me.⁣

They assumed I would... bite? Ignore them? Who knows...🤷🏻‍♀️⁣

So rather than avoiding messaging people, I want to share with you what helped me and our clients when it comes to mindset:⁣

STOP MAKING IT ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FEELINGS.⁣

Here’s how:⁣
☝🏼Daily practice of gratitude and self love- this allows you to be in a mindset of abundance vs scarcity. You really see your self worth vs what you are lacking and why someone might reject you. You could write 10 things daily that you love about yourself and that you are grateful for.⁣

✌🏼You are really great at what you do and have one of the most important jobs on this planet.

Your coaching is curing and saving people so go put on your coach cape and be a hero!⁣

I would be lying if I said that finding my confidence and self worth was easy.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The years that I wasn’t comfortable, my insecurities manifested and put huge blocks on my success in multiple areas.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💔I didn’t charge what I was worth.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💔I was resistant to messaging potential clients.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💔I self sabotaged any success I had because I didn’t feel worthy of having it.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💔I second guessed my words and actions. A LOT.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I’ve found that self love is often a deep limiting belief that many of our clients have which prevents them from taking action in their business. I think and would agree.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
It took me years and hiring a coach to get comfortable with who I am physically and realizing + MFin’ OWNING my worth. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
One thing that I’ve done (and still do) is remind myself of what I love about myself daily. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you aren’t doing this already, it’s going to feel REALLY awkward and uncomfortable even. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💞Try writing 10 things every day that you love about yourself. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💞You could also write a cheesy love letter to yourself and read it every day, but I like the idea of finding new things about yourself. 😘⁣⁣

Watch what this increase in self worth does to your relationships, business, happiness, etc.⁣⁣
⁣⁣

The highlight of my 2018⁣

I felt the exact same way when I saw Quinn’s face for the first time. ⁣

You wait 9 eternal months caring for something that you can’t touch (besides those ribs jabs and bladder punches) you can’t see or hear it.⁣

Yet the moment you do, every emotion floods your body. ⁣

Or maybe that’s the relief of pain since I had two natural births. 🤷🏻‍♀️😳⁣

Everyone says you will have an unconditional love for the second baby like you did for your first but if I’m being honest, I didn’t really believe it was true.⁣

I was wrong about it all.⁣

I love him so much. Not more. Just differently.⁣

And seeing her become a big sister (and continue to be his favorite thing) it just deepens my love for both of them.⁣

I find that I’m more emotional now than I ever have been. ⁣

Little things like packing up the small “magic clips” (that were one attached to Quinn) because she doesn’t play with them will make me cry. ⁣

Starting to sell newborn things makes me cry. ⁣

Watching Quinn walk into school makes me cry. ⁣

I’m happy to watch them grow, and it also breaks my heart.⁣

We are pretty certain that we are done having babies so that we can enjoy more experiences with these two.⁣

I’ve heard that your last baby is always the hardest and I get it now.⁣

Motherhood is the most bittersweet blessing.⁣

I’m so thankful for these tiny humans.⁣ What was your highlight this past year?

Every coach has their “secret formula” which is just recycled garbage. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Just like keto, Intermittent Fasting, cleanses, etc are the same recycled concept of calorie control that you (and I) complain about.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And what have we preached? “Find a diet that fits your lifestyle, don’t conform to a diet.”⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Sooooo you want bigger things this year for your biz and your clients? ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Stop looking for the next algorithm hack, post frequency/timing tips, hashtag creator, follow/unfollow method, fancy script, marketing method, etc and look inward instead. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Get in alignment vs conforming to the “strategies”⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Do the inner work and your biz will be a reflection of your own expansion. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
After all, we attract the spouse we want, clients we want, etc through the mirror of ourselves. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I mean it when I say that the breakthroughs our clients have is a direct parallel to how many lives they touch and the depth of those interactions.⁣⁣

That’s why we focus on self love, self worth, forgiveness and the daily practices that help our clients shift vs strategize.⁣⁣

Does taking a day off really set you back?

Just a fun fact...⁣

Chick-fil-A has only 1,887 restaurants and none of its restaurants are open on Sundays. ⁣

For comparison, McDonald's has more than 14,000 locations in the US, Taco Bell has 5,921, and KFC has 4,370 - most of which are open seven days a week.⁣

Yet Chick-fil-A generates more annual revenue than dozens of other chains that have more than twice as many locations, such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Domino's, and Arby's.⁣

They simply have the best possible service which is what EVERYONE and their mom (including me) raves about. ⁣

I refer to them as chick-fil-angels... 😇⁣

I highly believe that this has to do with the fact that they prioritize a day of rest as a Christian company. ⁣

Want better results for your business and your clients?⁣

When was the last time you took a full day off? Do you realize that you are worth some R&R? ⁣

When you realize that you deserve it, and you actually do it, watch what happens. ⁣

You will feel better. Your clients will get better results AND will actually start to listen to your advice on taking a rest day....
