Jaelin’s goal was to create a site where women could come for current evidence-based information related to all areas of women’s health.
SHEis.com is your trusted resource for empowering women’s health info, from pregnancy to holistic wellness, founded by Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and Women Health Nurse Practitioner WHNP) Jaelin Stickels in 2016 🌸 www.SHEis.com is the idea of Jaelin Stickels a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) who works at a free standing birth center (https://www.nativiti.com/) in The Woodlands TX and owns her own homebirth business (https://www.hhhomebirth.com/) serving the North Houston area. As a Certified Nurse Midwife, she has a passion for women’s health and everything related to it. The site started out as a simple news repository but quickly grew to include original content from amazing women contributors. Today, the site has a team of support staff and contributors, tens of thousands of social media followers and is growing every day. www.SHEisSHOP.com is an extension of our SHEis.com website. It allows us to finance not only the continuation of the website but also to give a portion of all profits to women’s charities that we feel are very important. This store is curated by pregnant and nursing mothers showing their likes and needs for healthy, fun and trendy solutions. We are constantly looking for new and exciting suppliers and products to add to our store so check back regularly for updates. If you have items you would like to see, we would love to hear from you support@sheis.com

🚽 New SHEis.com article:
“So… am I going to p**p during labor?”
Short answer: Probably.
Long answer: Also probably.
Let’s talk about it—no shame, no filter, just facts and a few puns.

A womb is not just anatomy —
it's 🌼 design, 🌙 rhythm, 💪 strength, and ✨ creation.
A sacred system that blooms, sheds, holds, and releases.
Every cycle, a whisper of power.
Every birth, a miracle unfolding.

I’ve been quiet lately. Life has been full. (If you know, you know.)
But I’m back, and this curated video from the Associated Press is worth your time.
IVF can be a game-changer. I’ve shared my thoughts on when it makes sense and what to consider.
Ever feel like “evidence-based care” is just code for doing what you're told?
Let’s change that.
I wrote this article because I believe evidence and autonomy are not enemies—they’re partners. You deserve care that is based on science, not fear... and still honors your right to say no.
My last few articles have been serious and heartfelt, so I decided to switch gears and have a little fun with this one—because naming babies? That’s sacred and hilarious. 😅
In this new post, I’m comparing the official top 20 baby names in the U.S. with the names chosen by families in my homebirth practice. Spoiler: we’ve got a few Ezras, lots of meaning, and more than a little originality.
Come see what’s trending, what’s timeless, and what names made me laugh, cry, and question spelling choices.

This is the most personal piece I’ve ever written. It is my heart in words.
It’s about death. And love. And clarity.
It’s about how grief burns everything to the ground—and leaves behind only what matters.
If you’ve ever held someone’s hand at the end… if you’ve ever wished for one more hug… I hope this speaks to your heart.

💬 “Sometimes the fear isn’t coming from the mother.
Sometimes it’s the partner.
Sometimes it’s the midwife.”
Fear and anxiety walk into the birth room more often than we admit—and they affect everything.
In my newest article, I’m pulling back the curtain on how emotional tension affects birth: the mother’s body, the partner’s presence, and the birth worker’s decisions.
If you’ve ever wondered why labor sometimes unravels even when everything looks fine… this is the article.

This was one of the hardest pieces I’ve ever written.
The breakup with my former business partner has been painful—but the gossip that’s followed? That’s what truly broke my heart.
Why do we, as women, turn pain into whispers and hurt into rumors?
Why do we tear each other down instead of lifting each other up?
I’m not sharing this to point fingers. I’ve been guilty of it too.
I’m sharing it to say: we have to do better.

What happens when a midwife and a mom share a passion?
Jaelin Stickels has a vision—to empower women to take control of their own healthcare and birth experiences through education in evidence-based research. As a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP), she has a passion for women’s health. In early 2016, she envisioned using the internet and social media to spread the word and start a movement that empowers women to take back their birth and health experiences from a top-down patriarchal healthcare system. Then she met client Melissa Steindl, who shared that passion and drive to help moms take control of the whole family’s health by teaching them about nutrition, natural living, and raising children as naturally as possible. A friendship was soon formed, followed by a website—She is…
Like two sticks rubbed together to start a flame, these two women ignited each other and began building an informative website, supplemented by compelling social media channels. Together they created SHEis.com, an ever-evolving hub for women to learn about all kinds of women’s health issues including natural birth, fertility, menstruation, menopause, nutrition, and a whole myriad of other women’s issues. The content focuses on pregnancy, birth and natural living, interacting with moms everywhere, and encouraging them in who they are—that they are strong, limitless, and essential!
Put simply, our goal is to help all women take control of every aspect of their lives, whether it be pregnancy, birth, or just daily living through education and insight on natural, healthy living in a practical way.
Funding our mission
Every mission needs funding so we created a store. SheNeedsThis.com was built to fund the site by selling items that like-minded women need and want. Jaelin has taken responsibility for making recommendations on natural and organic supplements as well as selling her own blend of organic sitz bath used in her homebirth practice. Melissa uses her skills as an artist to create amazing graphics for apparel that are only available on this site. The revenue from the SheNeedsThis.com store helps us keep our website running, pay our staff, and donate to Hearts of Hope Network - a charity for families caring for critically ill children. Please help support us by shopping in our store and sharing with others!
How can YOU help?
Help us spread our vision, and be a part of the movement by sharing our posts and joining the conversation through comments. Then, head over to our store to find some great trendy, fun, and healthy items for mom, baby, and home! And don’t forget to share our shop with your friends, too!
