The American Holistic Nurses Association joins the national nursing community in mourning the death of our colleague, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, RN.

In moments like these, many of us are holding grief, shock, fear, and fatigue—sometimes all at once. As holistic nurses, we are reminded to return to our core AHNA values: Compassion, Authenticity, Integrity, Wellness, and Inclusivity.

Wellness during difficult times includes intentional self-care:

✨ Checking in with our emotions and energy
✨ Honoring our capacity and limits
✨ Practicing gratitude and prayer or reflection
✨ Offering quiet acts of care to those in need

We invite you to pause with us, to hold those who are grieving gently in your heart, and to direct intentions of peace, love, and healing where you feel called.

Connection matters.

Please check in with one another, listen deeply, and remember that your presence—calm, caring, and authentic—is a powerful form of healing.

PLEASE NOTE: Rooms outside of AHNA’s room block at the Sheraton Hotel and nearby hotels are expected to fill up quickly due to the FIFA World Cup taking place nearby in Canada during our conference dates. This will also cause AHNA’s room block to sell out sooner than usual. We encourage you to make your hotel reservation as soon as possible, as AHNA will not be able to request additional rooms once the block is full.
