Charlotte Hungerford Hospital's Volunteer Department recently welcomed a special new member —Boss, a gentle 125-pound Newfoundland therapy dog, along with his handler, retired orthopedic surgeon Dan Gelb.

Their recent first visit was met with warm smiles, hugs, and plenty of puppy kisses from staff. Boss will be visiting weekly, offering comfort and connection to patients and staff alike. Research shows that time with therapy animals can reduce stress and promote emotional well-being, making Boss a great new addition to the Charlotte community!

🌸 Celebrating in Full Bloom raised an amazing $30,000 for the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Pink Rose Fund, supporting breast cancer patients with care and compassion.

The event was led by cancer survivor and hospital corporator Jessica Stewart, and featured a silent auction, games, and live music by Brian Mattiello, senior system director for social impact. 💕

This weekend is the 4th annual fundraiser for Charlotte Hungerford’s Pink Rose Fund, which provides financial support for educational outreach and screenings for women in the local area. This fund helps ensure that women get comprehensive access to breast cancer services and treatments. Please consider joining us this Sunday, October 5th! 🌸
