To celebrate its 7th anniversary on April 20, 2026, the Centre Universitaire Tèt Ansanm (CUTA) organized a special recreational and social event for orphaned children. With the support of the CUTA staff, FSRL students, and interns, the day was filled with games, creative activities, dancing, and prizes in a warm and joyful atmosphere.

One of the most meaningful moments was the creation of a symbolic handprint tree, representing unity, sharing, and the memories made together. The children also performed a dance that brought an emotional and memorable touch to the celebration.

The event concluded with snacks and time shared together in friendship and community. The smiles and enthusiasm of the children were the greatest reward of the day. CUTA warmly thanks everyone who helped make this beautiful social initiative possible.

Today, May 1st, we join Haiti in celebrating Fête du Travail et de l’Agriculture—Labor and Agriculture Day—a powerful tribute to the farmers, laborers, and the “ti pèp” whose daily work sustains the nation.

This day honors Haiti’s rich agricultural heritage and recognizes the dignity and resilience of those who cultivate the land, build communities, and drive progress forward.

At the Haiti Rehabilitation Foundation, we are proud to support the Faculté des Sciences de Réhabilitation de Léogâne (FSRL), where future occupational therapists and physical therapists are being educated to serve Haiti. Their work is deeply connected to this day’s meaning. Both OT and PT are rooted in enabling people to engage in the essential activities of life—including work.

Whether supporting a farmer returning to the fields after injury, helping a worker regain strength and independence, or promoting health and participation across communities, rehabilitation professionals play a vital role in empowering individuals to contribute to society.

We are especially grateful today for the dedicated laborers building FSRL’s new campus—including the team working on the water tower pictured here. Their skill and effort are quite literally laying the foundation for the future of rehabilitation education in Haiti.

On this Labor and Agriculture Day, we honor not only the work of today—but the future workforce of Haiti.

We’re excited to share a meaningful new collaboration for Faculté Des Sciences De Réhabilitation De Léogâne UNEPH (FSRL)!

At the American Occupational Therapy Association - AOTA Inspire Conference Expo Hall, Janet O’Flynn connected with Cheryl Hall, author of the widely used Occupational Therapy Toolkit—and something powerful grew from that moment.

We are thrilled to announce that FSRL will be working with Cheryl to translate the Occupational Therapy Toolkit into Haitian Creole 🇭🇹

This initiative represents more than translation—it’s about access, equity, and empowering the next generation of Haitian occupational therapists with high-quality, culturally and linguistically relevant resources.

Grateful for partnerships that move the profession forward—globally. 🌍

From a doctoral capstone project to a transformational movement in global rehabilitation education—this is what vision looks like.

Honored to celebrate Janet O'Flynn, founding dean of the Faculté Des Sciences De Réhabilitation De Léogâne UNEPH, whose leadership turned an idea into Haiti’s first university-based program preparing both occupational therapy and physical therapy professionals. What began as part of her journey at St. Catherine University has grown into a sustainable, locally rooted program preparing Haitian therapists to serve their own communities.

Pictured here with Julie Johnson, Director of Allied Health Academics and Operations, at the AOTA Inspire Conference, this moment captures more than a meeting of colleagues—it reflects the impact of bold thinking, partnership, and long-term commitment to equity in healthcare education.

Janet’s work continues to ripple across Haiti and beyond, shaping the future of rehabilitation through education, empowerment, and access.

The future of rehabilitation education is taking shape in Haiti. At the site of the new campus for the Faculté Des Sciences De Réhabilitation De Léogâne UNEPH (FSRL), the land is now cleared—ready for what comes next. And that next step has already begun.

In this photo, local workers are welding the steel that will form the gateway to the new campus—one of the very first structures to rise. This gateway will stand as a symbol: of access, of opportunity, and of a future where Haiti’s future occupational and physical therapy professionals are are trained right here at home.

Every beam, every weld, every step forward is powered by a shared belief—that Haiti deserves sustainable, Haiti-led healthcare education.

Through the work of the Haiti Rehabilitation Foundation, this vision is becoming reality.
👉 We invite you to be part of this moment.
👉 Your support will directly fund construction of the new FSRL campus.
