I am deeply honored to accept the role of Vice Chair. This opportunity is especially meaningful to me because it reflects values that are close to my heart: advocacy, mentorship, and creating pathways for girls—particularly girls of color—to see themselves as leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
The work you do to inspire and support our girls resonates strongly with my own mission in women’s health and education. I am grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me and excited to partner with such passionate, committed leaders. I look forward to contributing and working together to uplift the next generation.

Meet our new Vice Chair Dr. Dara N. King, a distinguished leader in women’s health, maternal equity, and advocacy.

Founder of The Dara N. King Institute for Women, a health education firm focused on enhancing health outcomes for underrepresented women, particularly women of color. Dr. King has developed a lecture series, “Girl Talk with Dr. King” These are conversations women want and conversations girls need, designed to simplify and encourage open discussions on sensitive topics. Through the institute, she has become a vocal advocate for women's health.

Dr. King’s commitment to mentorship and increasing the representation of women of color in STEAM fields makes her an invaluable partner in our mission to inspire and support our girls. Thank you Dr. King for your strategic leadership, unwavering advocacy, and deep dedication to uplifting the next generation.

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) continues to show commitment to understanding and addressing the inequities Black women face in healthcare. Let’s keep the conversation going—and more importantly, continue the work needed to reduce these disparities.

The 2025 Professional Development Series was nothing short of amazing! We had thought-provoking panels on Al in medicine, vaccine confidence, and access to care. We were reminded how the fight still continues for equity care. To my physician colleagues - are you a member of NMA? We need you now more than ever!
