☔We hate to rain on your love of Little Debbie, but if you want a sweet treat, we recommend fruit.
If fruit isn't going to cut it, make your treats from scratch!
Why are dyes not good for you? Great question!
👉Some studies have found that certain dyes — especially Red 40, Yellow 5, and Yellow 6 — may worsen hyperactivity and attention problems in sensitive children.
👉Artificial dyes can affect neurotransmitters in the brain, possibly influencing mood or behavior.
👉Some dyes can cause skin rashes, headaches, or asthma-like symptoms in sensitive people.
👉Certain dyes are derived from petroleum, and some have shown cancer links in animal studies.
👉Some animal studies suggest that synthetic dyes may stress the liver or disrupt gut bacteria, potentially affecting digestion and detoxification.
👉Artificial dyes add color but no nutrients, so they’re often used to make ultra-processed foods look more appealing, especially to children — indirectly encouraging poor eating habits.
