Joey's Fall Ball Classic

Joey's Fall Ball Classic Joey was born on July 27, 1996. We were proud parents of a child with special needs. For Joey the greatest part of life was experiencing it.

Despite facing the unknown, we learned how to care for Joey, with the support of research, doctors, therapist and teachers. However, Joey taught us the most important things in life; he taught us life is to be embraced, treasured, savored and most of all celebrated. Joey lived his life to the fullest of his abilities everyday giving 100% to everything he did. He greeted each day with a warm and infectious smile; even though his life was medically complex which included a wheelchair, tube feedings, and numerous therapies and surgeries. He looked forward to the school bus every morning, he took swimming lessons, he played games on his computer, and played with and adored his three younger sisters. In the Spring of 2002 Joey played for Challenger Little League and had the time of his life as it opened a whole new world to him. Challenger Little League provided the opportunity for Joey to enjoy a sport, which would not otherwise have been available to him. Joey passed away October 10, 2002. In the six years Joey was with us, he led a quality life full of love and laughter fueled by his unbending determination to give an all out effort. Joey's Fall Ball Classic is a celebration of his life.

Thank you EVERYONE for participating in Joey's Fall Ball Classic this weekend. Without you this weekend could not have been possible. Many thanks to our family, volunteers, volunteer umpires, teams, parents, and teams.....you made this weekend special!
