Nearly 100% of the 12,000 individuals and families served by Intermountain and its affiliates each year qualify as low-income, with some being unhoused. Homelessness and hunger are prevalent in the United States today, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of the hardships they grapple with, can access the most supportive health and human services for their needs. There is much to be done, but through community alongside care we can turn the tide on even the worst disparities.

Survivors of domestic violence are three times more likely to meet the criteria for PTSD. They are at higher risk for developing behavioral health disorders, including major depressive disorder. The traumas of domestic violence can place an individual at a higher likelihood for substance abuse and self-harm. The criteria for domestic violence can be surprising, as it has a much wider range than many guess. If you suspect that somebody you know, or yourself, might be in a domestic violence situation, there are numerous resources to support you, including the National Domestic Violence Hotline. While it might be frightening, you are not alone, and support is just a call or message away.

Cancer impacts our communities, families, and personal lives. Together we can all be the support unit to ensure that everyone has access to life-impacting care when they need it.
