Today we celebrate Damien Long! For 10 years of sobriety ! God took the mess that Damien’s life had become, cleaned him up, matured him in Christ, taught Damien the depth of the need for a Savior and blessed him with more than a second chance. If you have never heard Damien’s testimony, ask him how he got where he is today. Ask him why he does what he does, and he will tell you what God has done for him.
Sobriety is not just staying sober off of substances - sobriety is integrity, discipline, maturity, sincerity, and learning how to keep standing when life still tries to knock you down. Sobriety is seeing the excitement in every day that you are who God made you to be, being able to have real conversations with people who impact your life. Sobriety is leading the value of relationships and embracing people for who they are and knowing how to keep boundaries all the same. Sobriety is being ok with just being at home, and not always having something to do or spend or see …. Sobriety is ok with being bored even. It is being able to laugh at yourself and with others you trust because in sobriety you build lasting relationships that are based on the reflection of your character and not centered around the dope house.
Sobriety is found in all the smallest most beautiful details that I could go on and on about but the point is this … sobriety is a gift - may we never take it for granted, may we always draw closer to God because of it and may it be an example of hope for others who need to know that IT IS POSSIBLE !
Thank you Jesus for sobriety ! If you see this guy out tell him good job ! And know that it’s all because of God making it possible !

Life Recovery Homes had a great time today in fellowship and enjoying sobriety on Mt Lemmon! Games and food, nature and just enjoying life without the need for substances is just a part of the recovery process! Life is what you make of it so why not enjoy the luxury of time together, with laughter and friends. Thank you Jesus for a great day !
