In the attic of his home, Gary kept a tiny laboratory all to himself. He combined, tested, and experimented with many essential oils. Many of the little bottles with his handwritten messages are still with Mary. He had barely ever given them names, but he put down a few words on the homemade label describing his goals for the specific blend.

Gary always opened the bottle and took a sniff before handing in one of his new blends. It seemed as though the oil molecules were speaking to him and telling him what to say at this moment.
