Another fun afternoon yesterday at Canyon View Elementary in Tucson, during my Mindful Watercolors after school program. I love watching these kids at work. They are so open and fearless in their expression! I hope they will never lose this freedom, because this is what makes the best art! I am in love with each one of their little artworks!

Happy Easter! I had an amazing morning with a great group of creative ladies . We painted watercolor florals, finding inspiration in real flowers ( from !), colorful images, and each other!

Flowers have always been and always will be a great source of inspiration, color and joy. As the subject is very forgiving it allows for a lot of creative freedom, especially when you add in a splash of your own imagination!

Flow! Watercolor Workshops are designed to hand you tools and techniques to work with, while bringing out your own unique creative voice. We guide you through your own process, encourage you to embrace the flow of the paint and approach the outcome with curiosity and openness. Experimenting from a state of play will allow your creativity to grow!

I really enjoyed my first after school session yesterday! 16 enthusiastic kids dove into working with watercolors and learned about mindfulness and how we can use art to practice being mindful.

Over the next 7 weeks we will be experimenting with watercolors and reading our own portfolio filled with a variety of artworks and mindfulness lessons to take home!

I can’t wait to see what we create next week!

I’m so happy with the way this Kinusaiga owl turned out. I made him on a cork board rather than foam board, since I like to use sustainable materials which was hard labor the result is so satisfying. I love the patterns, the softness and gentleness it breathes.

Creating this seriously challenged my creativity to because fabric is so different from paint. Now I’m considering creating a painting based on this work… what do you think?
