Bryan Seaborne Reid III

Bryan Seaborne Reid III passed away unexpectedly at the age of 74 on May 23, 2026. He was born on June 12, 1951, in St. Charles, Illinois. Bryan was the son of the late Bryan Seaborne Reid Jr. & Marian Vilas Reid.

Bryan spent his formative years attending Elgin Academy in Elgin, Illinois. He later earned his bachelor’s degree from New College of Florida and went on to receive his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.

Mr. Reid built a long and respected career in the insurance industry, holding positions with General Reinsurance, Continental Insurance, and Trenwick in Bermuda. He was a loving father and grandfather who eagerly anticipated visits from his three grandchildren. He was also especially devoted to his beloved dog, Bella, who was his constant companion.

Bryan was an avid collector with a deep appreciation for music, particularly jazz. He was an extensive reader whose interests ranged from science fiction to poetry, and he had a lifelong passion for literature in all forms. He also enjoyed collecting art and was, in every sense, a true collector.

He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Brittingham Fitch, Shelton, CT; his grandsons, Elliot Reid, Oliver James, and Alexander Theodore, Shelton, CT; his son, Bryan Seaborne Reid IV, Philadelphia, PA; and his sister, Nancy Reid Walker, Lebanon, OR. He was predeceased by his brothers, Andrew Reid and Alexander Reid.

Bryan is remembered for his intelligence, sense of humor, and his appreciation for life’s simple pleasures — books, music, flowers, animals, and meaningful conversation.

Services will be private.

John Robert Lushbaugh, Sr.

John Robert Lushbaugh, Sr.

Born in Brooklyn NY September 1946, he was a man of extraordinary talent, resilience, and heart. A survivor of childhood polio and multiple battles with cancer, he never allowed hardship to slow him down. Intelligent, industrious, artistic, and endlessly curious, he was a gifted painter, musician, singer, actor, craftsman, and adventurer who could fix nearly anything and make everyone laugh while doing it.

He was respected for his accomplishments, admired for his wisdom and humor, and loved deeply as a son, brother, husband, and father. Whether working as a micro-solderer, cutting timber, skydiving, or sharing thoughtful conversation, he lived fully and fearlessly.

Of all his many roles in life, the ones he treasured most were husband, being with Dorothy for 63 years, and father of his three sons. After passing away in his beloved Tucson on May 2026, He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, wit, and unwavering love for his family.

Erlinda Figueroa Carranza

Erlinda F. Carranza, age 97, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. She was born on December 2, 1928, in Tanque Verde, Arizona, where she was raised on a ranch alongside her many siblings. She was preceded in life by her brothers Jose Jr., Ramon “Wero,” Edwardo, Ernesto, Alvino, Arturo, Alfred, and Ramon “Hito,” and her sisters Isabel, Maria, and Anita. Survived by Enrique.

Erlinda married the love of her life, Ramon Carranza, and together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and family. They were blessed with two children, Hector Carranza, who preceded her in death, and Norma Carranza.

She was a proud grandmother to Raven and cherished her great-grandchildren Rene, Raymond, and Joseph, as well as her two great-great-granddaughters, Jadynn and Jocelyan.

Erlinda was known for her quiet strength, humble nature, and loving heart. Though shy and simple in spirit, she left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. To her family, she was much more than a mother and grandmother — she was a best friend, a guiding light, and the heart of the home. Norma lovingly called her “the Energizer Bunny” because she always kept her going with her endless care and energy.

A devoted homemaker for many years, Erlinda later chose to enter the workforce and spent 10 dedicated years working in housekeeping at Arizona Mail Order Company. She truly enjoyed the people she worked with and took great pride in her job, missing only one day of work in an entire decade.

Erlinda will always be remembered for her incredible cooking. Her kitchen was filled with the comforting aromas of homemade tamales, fresh salsas, chili con carne, arroz con leche, soups made from scratch, menudo, and her famous beans. She cooked the traditional way — without recipes or measurements — and every meal was made with love.

To the Carranza family, she was lovingly known as “Tia Erlinda,” and to the Figueroa family, “Tia Chata.” Her love, kindness, and devotion to family touched generations.

She now reunites in peace with her beloved husband Ramon and her son Hector. Though deeply missed, her family finds comfort knowing she is surrounded by love in heaven, just as she surrounded others with love throughout her life.

“Mom, don’t worry. I have lots of earth angels around me. Rest in peace with Dad and Hector. I will miss you, and I love you always.”

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of the West for the compassionate care provided to Erlinda and for their outstanding service, kindness, and support during this difficult time.

Beatriz Rivas Bright

Beatriz Rivas Bright 1946 - 2026 To know Beatriz Bright is to know a soul who deeply loved all who entered her life. With her defining smile, warmth, and generosity, Beatriz lived by her values and her religion. A more loving mother, loyal friend, or dedicated teacher would be hard to find. Beatriz was born in Peru in 1946 to Sixto Rivas Zigarra and Aurora Siles de Rivas. It was there that she met her future husband, Jack Bright, when she enrolled in an English class at the Binational Institute in Arequipa directed by Jack. For Jack, it was love at first sight. They married soon thereafter and together raised three children as they navigated the life of a U.S. foreign service officer in Peru, Costa Rica, and eventually in the US, settling in Tucson. To pursue her love of teaching, Beatriz received her bachelor's degree in education and secondary teaching at the Santa Maria Catholic University in Arequipa and later studied English both in Arequipa and Santa Barbara, CA. She then embarked on a lifelong career teaching both English and Spanish that spanned several decades in both the US and Peru. After retiring from Head Start, where she was a treasured teacher, Beatriz volunteered teaching Spanish for years through her church, Saint Francis De Sales. Known fondly as “the Banana Lady,” she delivered bananas weekly for over a decade to a charity affiliated with her church. She also volunteered with Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona to give communion at an assisted living center.

She often told stories from her childhood about giving sweets to the poor, a kindness that stayed with her throughout her life.

Beatriz embraced her second life as a grandmother with boundless love and devotion. Caring for her grandchildren, Sagan and Ruby (children of Thomas and Rosemary), became one of the greatest joys of her life, blending her nurturing spirit with her love of family and teaching. They brought her immense pride and happiness, and the memories she shared with them will be cherished by her family forever.

Beatriz liked to laugh and loved a good joke, which even further endeared her to her large circle of good friends and family. Beatriz prided herself on her Peruvian cooking. We all loved her ahi de gallina and empanadas. Her kitchen and her home were a truly inviting and comfortable place. Because she valued

health so highly, Beatriz remained active and vibrant. She belonged to a gym for many years where she trained with a personal trainer and pushed herself to stay active and strong.

All her children treasure the love she showered on them and the loving discipline with which she raised them to become responsible and caring adults.

Beatriz is survived by her children John, Thomas (Rosemary), Alexandra, Terry (Tom), Bonnie (Brint), and Peter; her grandchildren Sagan and Ruby, children of Thomas and Rosemary; brothers Mariano and Eduardo; her extended family of nephews and cousins.

Beatriz Rivas Bright passed away at Peppi’s Hospice surrounded by loved ones at her side.

We will miss our beloved Beatriz greatly and will hold her in our hearts forever.
