The afterglow of a beautiful morning still sitting with me.
I’m so grateful for the time shared at the Annual Women’s Brunch with . Especially the conversations, the laughter, the thoughtful questions, and the opportunity to sit alongside such incredible women in healthcare.

There’s something powerful about being in a room full of women who care deeply about their communities and are dreaming forward into a new year of wellness, growth, and purpose. To everyone I met and connected with, thank you for the warmth, the encouragement, and the inspiration. I’m carrying this energy with me into the year ahead🥹.

Here’s to more community, more collaboration, and more wellness in 2026!

I was truly honored to be invited as a speaker for the Annual Women’s Brunch hosted by the Epsilon Omega Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. alongside an incredible panel of passionate healthcare professionals. What a beautiful morning of learning, laughter, thoughtful questions, and genuine connection.

Thank you to every amazing woman I had the privilege of meeting and sharing space with. So many of you spoke life into future collaborations, events, and community projects, and my heart is absolutely full.

Getting evidence-based nutrition information into our communities is the work I love and today was a powerful reminder of exactly why.

Let’s keep building. Together. 🫶🏾

I love nutrition buzz and ever since the new 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines dropped, there has been BIG nutrition energy in the air 👀.

During times like these it’s important to make sure you’re not skipping decades of research for popular trends. Reminder: Higher intakes of saturated fat are strongly linked to increase risk of cardiovascular disease and fiber in whole grains plays a role in reducing this risk!

The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics shared a thoughtful response celebrating the push for more whole, nutrient-dense foods, while also pointing out that some recommendations raise questions and may not work well for everyone in real life.

And that’s the part I always want to highlight:
“Nutrition is NEVER one-size-fits-all.” Say it with me until you believe it!

These guidelines are meant for population health, but your body, culture, health history, goals, preferences, and season of life matter way more than any one document.

That’s why working with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist is the gold standard for evidence-based, personalized nutrition. We help translate all this “nutrition noise” into something that actually fits your life.

This is one of my absolute favorite memories of 2025 spent resting up, soaking in Colorado’s breathtaking scenery, and enjoying some really good ice cream in the most beautiful mountain village I’ve ever seen 🫠
all after an activity-packed day (because yes… I like to move it, move it 🏃🏾‍♀️😆).

This is what balance looks like.
Movement. Rest. Joy. Real food. Real life.

It’s a new year and that means new support.

This time in Louisiana gave me the recharge I needed while making me oh so thankful that I get to do what I do everyday! Family time is the best time!
Rest = Resurgence (Don’t skip this step in your life and miss out on the ultimate come-up to help you crush your goals). The answer to success is not always another hour of work, sometimes it’s simply rest.

Ok, As promised in the reel, here’s the miraculous sweet potato story:

Picture this:
Christmas Day.
All the stores are closed.
Mom-in-loves sweet potato casserole (that I was in charge of picking up) slides out of the trunk and splatters on the concrete😬😫.

Cue mild panic 😅

But then… my girl came in clutch with fresh sweet potatoes from someone’s garden (Thank you Mrs. Johnson!) just a few houses down from Mrs. Baham’s.
I was able to put together a NEW and improved casserole. Even better than the first. Crisis averted!

That’s real life, and that’s how nutrition should work too. Flexible. Forgiving. And always improvable.

Health isn’t about perfection, it’s about connection, nourishment, movement, laughter, support, and creating a life that actually feels good to live.

Yesterday I spent the day at Grown, Oklahoma’s gathering of agriculture + nutrition leaders and wow, what an experience!

We kicked things off with Sheri Glazier, whose passion set the tone for the whole day. Then we dove into delicious pork education (yes to lean, flavorful protein!), explored the stunning hydroponic paradise at Better Day Farms, and got hands-on crafting our own spices, rubs, and marinades.

Lunch was incredible… and Tiny’s Cookies? DESERVE. AN. AWARD. We rolled up our sleeves to assemble holiday food boxes for the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, spreading a little extra joy this season.
And the grand finale? A dreamy tour of Topeca Coffee Roastery!! You could smell the magic before stepping inside. It was a WHOLE VIBE!! I learned all things seed-to-cup, and of course came home with two bags of my favorite blend: Ethiopian. What a day! Can’t wait to share more this week!!

We may not be able to fully prevent breast cancer, but we can make choices that help lower our risk and nurture our well-being. Did you know one of the simplest nutrients can help lower your risk of breast cancer is fiber? 👀

This powerful, underrated nutrient is something most of us aren’t getting enough of. Research shows Americans are typically only getting 15-16 grams per day when we need 25-30 grams and some of us need more than that!

It’s not hard to find: Look in fruits, colorful veggies like my favorite root, the humble beet (watch the full video to see my son showing it off 😍), and in my cherry walnut oat muffins that I never travel without. Why? Because these muffins are packed with beta-glucan, a type of soluble fiber that forms a gentle, gel-like consistency in your gut helping you feel full longer and nourishing the good bacteria that support your immune system and hormone health.
