October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and we love shining a light on other families and businesses making a difference. 💙💛

Please go check out , a new small business that officially launched on October 5. She’s a local mom who started a meaningful bamboo clothing line to bring awareness and help support her family of five.

It’s not easy to find super cute Down syndrome–themed bamboo prints, so she decided to make her own! Her line will feature Down syndrome awareness prints as well as other fun, cozy designs for the whole family with each drop.

Her inspiration? Her sweet 1-year-old baby boy with Down syndrome. 💙💛

Supporting businesses like hers is another way we can uplift and stand alongside our Down syndrome community — not just this month, but all year long.

We’re slowly approaching our two-year anniversary here at Okie Family Market—yes, that’s right, October 12th will mark TWO YEARS!

It’s kind of wild because on one hand, it feels unbelievable that we’ve even made it this far… but at the same time, it feels like we’ve been open for 10 years. Two years ago, we stepped into the unknown with no idea what we were doing or how it was going to work—we just knew we were walking in complete faith.

These last two years have been absolutely incredible. We’ve learned so much. We’ve grown so much. What started as a husband-and-wife duo with Meme (our mom and mother-in-law) quickly became a store that’s now a staple in the community.

We’ve had ups, downs, mistakes, and even tears from SO much stress—but every bit of it has been worth it. And in just two years, YOU—the community—and our amazing vendors have helped us grow at a rate that’s almost unheard of!

Today, the Market is packed to the brim (sometimes we’re literally stacking product anywhere it will fit 😅). What began with just three of us working non-stop has now grown to eight employees. We were able to quit our other full-time jobs to run this Market full-time—and the biggest shocker of all—we’re now preparing to open a second location (coming soon)!

We don’t share this to brag or highlight us. We share this to glorify the Lord and what He can do when you’re obedient to His calling and simply say YES.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to two years…and the best is still yet to come.
