Axel (twin B) was born at 26 weeks he weighed 1lb 14oz and was 13" long. Axel had a long bumpy ride in 2 different NICUs a total of 108 days! Everything was going good for his gestational age until he went down hill with "NEC" and a gram negative bacteria called pseudomonas which caused Severe Sepsis. Axels little body was so sick and was shutting down before surgery to remove part of his intestines that the infection had damaged. Sometime during that time he had a grade 4 bilateral IVH which caused Periventricular Leukomalacia (PVL). Axel was later diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy with Spasticity and Dystonia. Global Developmental Delay(GDD), Chronic Lung Disease of Prematurity/Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (CLD/BPD), Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease(GERD), and Oropharyngeal Dysphagia (nectar thickened feeds)...

Axel has climbed many huge mountains and still faces many more daily but through it all he is the happiest strongest little boy I have ever met! �
