Just to be clear, this isn’t about pointing fingers at men. A lot of us grew up in traditional homes and just fell into these roles without much thought. But really, the heavy lifting of raising kids and running a household shouldn’t all fall on moms (or any one parent, dads included). It’s a tough cycle to break. If you’re looking for a place to start, I highly recommend Eve Rodsky’s () “Fair Play.” It’s been a game changer for me and my marriage. Got any other tips for shaking up the old routines?

So let’s talk about something important—comparing ourselves to other women. It’s so easy to fall into that trap, but we gotta break free, you know? We shouldn’t judge ourselves based on someone else’s life, whether it’s their accomplishments, family situation, job title, or choosing to work full-time, part-time, or not at all.

Since we were children, we’ve all been programmed to make snap judgments about people. But it’s time to unlearn that habit and start seeing each woman for who she really is, beyond the surface stuff. It may take some work, but it can be done!

Once we let go of those assumptions and biases, we can create a world where we celebrate and support each other’s unique experiences. No more stereotypes or unfair judgments—just genuine appreciation and empowerment. Let’s join forces and make that world a reality. Together, we’ve got this!

Q: What do you love about being a mom?
A:The journey of motherhood is filled with challenges and selflessness, especially as a single mom. My favorite moments are the small, everyday joys with my children—like writing encouraging notes in their lunchboxes or our after-school treats at Braums. These precious times are treasures that fill my heart with joy.

Q: How do you balance work and motherhood?
A: Balancing work and motherhood is tough. I maintain a strict schedule during the weekdays and have a supportive co-parenting arrangement for weekends. This structure helps me stay focused and healthy, both mentally and emotionally.

Q: If you could provide one piece of advice to your younger self as a mom, what would it be?
A:Trust your instincts. My journey included navigating challenges with my autistic child, and learning to advocate for their needs early on. Your maternal instincts are powerful—never doubt them.

A: I love being a Mom because every day is an adventure and full of joy. It is such a blessing to watch him grow, learn and explore the world around him.

Q: How you balance work and Motherhood?
A: I am intentional about having the time and space to be a Mom. In the spirit of the vision of Motherboard, I have worked with my company to allow me the opportunity to pick my son up each day from school. This allows me quality time with him during the week that many other Mom’s don’t have.

Q: If you could provide one piece of advice to your younger self as a Mom, what would it be?
A: Relax. Everything will be okay. You are resilient and so is your child.
