How long have you been at Jenks?
I am completing my 9th year at Jenks and my 19th year as a nurse!
What is your previous nursing/healthcare experience?
Before becoming a school nurse, I worked in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), specializing in post-CABG (open heart surgery), valve repair/replacement, heart failure, and post-cardiac arrest patients. I also worked in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), supporting patients following major abdominal, thoracic, and trauma surgeries with a focus on hemodynamic stabilization and early mobilization. Lastly, I monitored and recovered patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia, pain control, airway management, and rapid identification of post-op complications.
If you could be anything other than a nurse or health assistant, what would you be?
If I weren’t a nurse, I’d be tearing it up as a hip hop dancer—or surrounded by furry friends at my own animal rescue. One fuels my love for 90's hip hop/rap music and the other my compassion for animals in need.
What is your favorite food? Sushi all day every day!
Why do you like working at Jenks?
I love being a high school nurse because it combines clinical care with connection. Teenagers are navigating so much—academics, mental health, relationships, and identity. Being there for them, not just in emergencies but as a steady, supportive presence, is incredibly rewarding.
Amber Rogers RN
How long have you been at Jenks? I am finishing my 6th year at Jenks HS
What is your previous nursing/healthcare experience? My previous experience is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St John in Tulsa, OK
If you could be anything other than be a nurse or health assistant, what you be? Stay at home Mom, Travel Agent or open my own Coffee Shop! 🙂
What is your favorite food? My favorite food is probably cheese and crackers! Or anything that would make a great charcuterie board!
Why do you like working at Jenks? I love working with my team at the high school! It truly is a blessing to work alongside some of my greatest friends! I also love being a part of the student’s journey at the secondary level. It is so rewarding to see their growth from freshman year to their senior year! Being just a small part of making their day a little easier is worth it to me!

How long have you been at Jenks?
I’ve been with Jenks for two years now, working as a Health Assistant in the nurse’s office. It’s been a great experience supporting the health of both students and staff, and being part of such a dedicated and caring team.
What is your previous nursing/healthcare experience?
Prior to joining Jenks, I worked as a Medical Assistant at an internal medicine practice, where I gained a strong foundation in patient care, clinical procedures, and collaboration with healthcare professionals. I now bring that experience to my role as a Health Assistant at Jenks High School.
If you could be anything other than a nurse or health assistant, what would you be?
If I weren’t working in healthcare, I would likely pursue a career in photography. I’ve always been passionate about capturing meaningful moments and expressing my creativity through the lens of a camera. I’m especially drawn to exploring a variety of genres, including landscapes, portraits, events, and street photography.
What is your favorite food?
Mexican food is definitely my favorite; I love the rich, bold flavors.
Why do you like working at Jenks?
Working in the nurse’s office at Jenks High School is truly rewarding. It allows me to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of both students and staff. Providing care and support to those in need brings a deep sense of fulfillment, and I’m grateful to be part of such a welcoming and collaborative school community.
