On Thursday we got to spend time with some members from the Tunkhannock Area Recreation Association. This awesome group of individuals volunteered their time to learn life saving skills so that they are better prepared to help the children and families that attend their programs if needed.

Huge thank you to the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation - WCCHF for working with us to provide this training to this amazing group at no cost to them. The partnerships we've established are making it possible to reach deeper in our community. We are excited to see so many people reaching out and showing interest in learning these skills.

On Wedensday, we returned to the Tunkhannock Area School District to provide another session for the High Schools First Responders club. This week we helped students build on the First Aid and CPR skills they learned previously. The students have shown alot of growth since this program first began. We can't wait to see what they accomplish next.

This morning employees from Meshoppen Stone, Inc took time out of thier busy schedules to join us at the Wyoming County Healthcare Center for a CPR / AED and First Aid refresher course. Partnerships like this ensure that everyone has access to these life saving skills.

Thank you to the leadership from Meshoppen Stone, Inc for making time to allow thier employees to attend and thank you to the Wyoming County Healthcare Center for allowing us to use thier facilities. Together we can help our community be better prepared for emergencies.

On march 24th we held our second day of class at the Endless Mountains Drop-In Center. We are happy to say that 25 students successfully passed their CPR / AED / First Aid class. The drop-in center was a fantastic host and the students were awesome. Congratulations to each and every one of you for your dedication and willingness to learn a new life saving skill.

We are proud to announce that today we were able to certify 22 new students in CPR and AED usage for all ages. These students are all part of the Tunkhannock Area First Responders Club. This would not have been possible without the collaboration efforts of The Wyoming County Community Health Foundation- WCCHF, the Northern Tier Regional Planning & Development Commission, and the Tunkhannock Area School District. Our team is extremely grateful to have had this opportunity to teach these students life saving skills.

Yesterday we completed day 1 of CPR / AED and First Aid training for an amazing group of students at The Endless Mountains Drop-in Center. The students were fantastic and eager to learn. After completing a pre- class knowledge test, students were taught how to perform high quality CPR and proper AED usage. Students then got to put their skills to the test with a hands on skills session before going home. We can’t wait to see what day 2 of this training brings. Shout out to each and every student who is giving up their free time to learn these life saving skills.

This year we partnered with the Tunkhannock Area School District, the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation - WCCF, the Northern Tier Planning & Development Comission, and various local first responders to start the Tunkhannock Area First Rsponders Club (TFRC). Through the club students in grades 8-12 are learning life saving skills and getting to see first hand what it takes to be an emergency responder.

For more information about the club students can stop by the high school library during activity period B every other week.
