It has been 4 months since the Tuscaloosa Half Marathon and I finally have my Week 12 Update on our Blog. Team Physiolete showed out this year - 7 of us ran the THM. Name a more athletic PT group, I dare you! If you do, we will challenge you to a game of 5 on 5 and you don’t want Allie or Claire going up against you on the hardwood - trust me.
If you followed my weekly updates you may remember I used the Galloway (Run Walk) Method to complete the 13.1 miles. I PR’d by over 7 minutes in the THM this year, completed my goal of going sub-2 hours, and walked throughout the race a bit.
Why am I still running?
It’s not always sunshine & rainbows—early wakeups, pushing through aches, resisting that snooze button. But here’s the real reason: running is cathartic. It gives me space to just be—to sort my thoughts, reflect on what’s pure and praiseworthy, and feel accomplished before the day’s chaos begins.
I didn’t always love running. In fact, I used to dread it—really! But over time, it’s become so much more: a mental reset, a spiritual recharge, and a gift of time for myself.
Click the link in our bio to read more. I also have included a template and weekly mileage if you are interested in using the Galloway (Run Walk) Method for a future half marathon.
And guess what? Thanks to some encouragement from , I’m gearing up for the Rocket City Marathon in December 2025—so there’s more training, more miles, and more stories to come. Stay tuned!
— A reminder that done is better than perfect.
