Our hearts and minds remain with the family after the tragic loss on Tuesday. We continue to lift them up in prayer during this incredibly difficult time. π
May this tragedy shine a light on mental health awareness and the importance of safety for healthcare workers everywhere. π
This horrific act of violence was not a targeted threat from someone she knew β it was random. It could have happened anywhere. It could have happened to anyone. But it happened to HERβ¦ at her workplace, while walking to her car to go home. A life dedicated to caring for others was taken far too soon due to the actions of a mentally ill individual. π
We pray that Ada Dossβ story will not end here. May her name become a voice for change β bringing awareness to the urgent need for improved safety measures for healthcare workers across our nation, while also encouraging compassionate conversations surrounding mental health and crisis intervention. π
As we grieve together, let us remember that we are all just walking each other home. No one should walk through grief, fear, or mental health struggles alone. Check on one another. Support one another. Seek help when needed. π
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Wearing a green ribbon helps increase awareness and reminds others that mental health matters. π
It is normal to experience sadness, exhaustion, anxiety, numbness, or difficulty focusing after a loss. There is no βright wayβ to grieve and no timeline for healing. During these moments, it is important to lean on support systems such as your Employee Assistance Program (EAP), grief counseling services, trusted friends, spiritual care, or mental health professionals.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, or dial 911 for immediate medical emergencies. π
