Longer, harder workouts don’t always equal better conditioning.
Recovery is what most people skip—and it’s costing them seconds.
Yes, you must challenge your horse during workouts so they can progressively adapt to higher demands. Without challenge there is no adaptation. BUT are you factoring in recovery?
🐎 A harder workout means they’ll need more to recover. When muscles work they produce lactic acid. Lactic acid builds up in the muscles causes fatigue and that’s when your horse’s stamina drops and they get gassed 💨
